I know it's only one game, and is JGreen's first game since 2011....and it was against the Champs on - kind of a big stage kind of night.

But I can't shake the uncomfortable feeling that JGreen and Darko share the same passion for the game.....which is close to zero.

JGreen looked beyond lost and afraid.  The Heat could smell his fear.  His showing was kind of pathetic.

PS.   And as for Doc - if there is a line up made for JGreen being on the floor as a starter, the Heat's small line up is it!!!

Well, I think their issues may not be the same, but Green's mental game is certainly a concern.  I think things would have been very different had he hit one or two of the runners like he did in the preseason.  He seemed to completely lose confidence, and just fell apart.

I do think part of it is adjusting to the speed of the game, but he also needs to really get the fearless attitude, if he is going to be a really effective player going forward.

I don't think this is accurate at all.  Green took some shots, attacked the rim a few times, but just missed his shots.

The Darko comparison isn't at all on point.  Darko has never lived up to expectations.  Green was the #3 option on a very good OKC team who routinely scored 20+ points in games.

Maybe he'll never be a superstar, but I think he's already established himself as a quality starting small forward capable of carrying a team for spurts.

I wouldn't read too much into one game.

He didn't shy away from taking shots, he just missed the ones he took. Those were good shots he tool too, those should start to fall. I didn't really see him being timid.
Back to wanting Joe fired.

Even though it was just one game and Jeff's first game in over a year, I am starting to wonder the same thing.

We kept hearing about how "good" Green looked in pre-season. Well, clearly that didn't carry into last night.

Again, it's too early to hit the panic button. It's just I keep hearing so much about Green's "potential" and have yet to see it in Boston.

Hopefully as the season goes on, this will be a moot point.

That being said, Terry had a pretty bad game also. Perhaps it's time to worry about his passion? Guess Sully won't see the floor again.
Guess it doesn't matter as Barbosa will be scoring machine, so they don't have to worry about the Jet being a waste.
Come on, it's one game, after missing all of last year. Give the guy a break.

I agree. I think what's making some people like me wonder is that Green also didn't play well after the trade in 2011 with the Celtics. Again, hopefully this is just all irrelevant.

I do agree with that but I also don't think he was as bad has some people remember. It's not easy to come onto a close knit team like that in the middle of a season and always play up to your potential. Not to mention the Celtics traded one of the more popular guys on the team for him. Fans were mad. His team mates were upset. I'm going to give him some time. I know it was pre season, but he was one of the better players on the team. Let's give him say 10 games, than we'll revisit this topic. Fair enough?

Yeah, I think thats the case with just about every basketball thread that came up today.

...or for that matter, the ones that will come up after this weekend, if the C's suddenly look good.

This was Jason Terry's first game as a Celtic. Jeff Green played the same way he did two seasons ago with the Celts -- actually he was worse. Not the time to panic, but I will believe in Jeff Green when he actually starts doing something for this team -- which I hope is real soon.

Sure Jeff wasn't great, but I think you guys are missing that he should have had at least 3 more baskets.  He missed two gimmie layups and he was undercut by Wade on what should have been a dunk.

He also had a good take where he was met at the rim by Bosh.  It was called a block, looked like a foul to me, but I didn't get to see a replay.

He was pretty aggressive in reality.

The biggest issue was that, even though our offense worked well, it really wasn't executed as well as it could have been.  For example, we hardly were exploiting Mike Miller and Rashard Lewis on the floor.  No excuse for that.  Green and Pierce should have been exploiting those matchups.

Anyways, I am a Green fan so take my words with a grain of salt.  But you have to give him some patience.  To not play for a year and be tossed into virtually a playoff game agains the leagues best team is pretty intense.

If those shots fell I think there wouldn't be this worry, bottom line.  He has some work to do regardless, I agree there.

I want to see more than 4 shots for him in 23 minutes.  If we wanted that kind of offensive usage out of him, we could have just signed Marquis Daniels.

He needs to use his speed and versatility to get shot opportunities.

If Green can somehow find 30 minutes a game he will be effective... However, I dont know if he can get that on this squad. And that 9 mil a year might be a little much.

JEFF GREEN IS A BEAST... dude had a bad game. He hasn't felt that type of adrenaline in over a 16 months.

JET looked like trash but I don't see you questioning his love for the game. Give me a break bro, this whole team will turn up when the time is right.

Still 81 games to go..
