Seriously? Oh my, look at yourself in the mirror, give yourself a Home Alone moment to get rid of that opening night tension and calm the heck down.

There are 81 more games people, remember that!

Feel very good about tonight ... some glaring holes in defensive assignments, but despite high-percentage shooting by the Cheat, (and a no-show by Jeff Green, Typically), we still made a decent game of it.

The problems are obvious and easily repaired, and Barbosa was complete sweetness.

Disappointed by the loss, obviously, but encouraged about the team.

Anyone in panic mode after this one, just look a little deeper ... some great stuff happening, and simple adjustments to be made.

Eighty-one-and-one here we come! ;)

Have a look at the schedule.

We could very easily be 3-1 after 4 games.

how much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck was chris bosh?

I agree.

To be honest I was more concerned by the coaching then I was about the players.

We have 5 guys who were here last season (Rondo, Pierce, Bass, Garnett, Wilcox) and the rest of the team is pretty much all new.  Of course its going to take more than one game to get everything together, especially on defense.  I don't think we'll be playing championship calibre basketball until probably the All-Star break.

I think we'll start playing solid after about 5-10 games.

Doc however...he really had me scratching my head with the lineups he used.  I would say that if anything the time we need interior defense more than ever is against Miami because Wade and LeBron are so aggressive taking it to the basket.  I really think we needed a shot blocker in there at all times at the center position.

Not for me.

It's going to take us time to gel as a defensive unit. In previous seasons individuals like Lee, Terry & Barbosa didn't defend. If it's one thing your sure of happening this year, its ability to defend - so that will come with time. To that, when we get AB back I'm sure we'll gain greater presence on the perimeter.

Another thing - we out rebounded the Heat. When was the last time we out-rebounded anyone?

I'm just delighted we rack up 107 points - I honestly can't remember the last time we did that.

Not at all.

While Miami dropped a ton of buckets on us, lest not forget we scored 107 on th as well. Not a lot of teams will e able to do that against the Heat, LeBron or no LeBron.

Rotations on defense is still kind of a mess. But we have one game tape now. It'll be fixed.

BTW I LOL'd when the Lakers lost to a Dirk-less Mavs.

No panic. We played well enough to win, just no defense. Miami's ball movement was amazingly very good. That is about as good as they can play but can they expend that much energy all Season? Had our defense off all nite. Again we were in it at the end but couldn't finish strong. Overall I give the Celts a B. Green performed as I expected. It was like nerves and choke time. It has been awhile since he actually played in a real game. My feeling all along he'd do better at Track and Field. Has shown some spurts but nothing consistent. Miami is 10 points better than us at this point. Wade got into Rondo's head.

With Doc Coaching each game the opposition is +3 before tip off.

They shot the lights out.   We didn't play well and in spite all the TO's were in the game down the stretch.   I think we can toast them in the ECF.

Why? 1 game does not a season make. Had some sloppy moments last nite and Heat took advantage. We'll tighten it up and get better.

I can live with loss and given all the new players and the game being played in Miami , I was pretty sure the HEAT were very likely to prevail. Doc can turn it around.

My panic is with the play of Jeff Green.  DA said on TV Green was brought back to cover LeBron and Kobe.

He did absolutely NOTHING.   Well, he did cash a huge pay check.

IF he had blocked out, rebounded, EVEN FOULED Lebron would have been better than looking more lost than Sully , a 20 year old rookie.  At least foul out trying.   Did Green take lessons from J oNeil on standing around?

He made Bass look like an Alstar. Bass played his tail off , one of his most aggressive efforts to date.

Downs would have outplayed Green ., for 1/10 the salary.

LEE , BASS , JET , BARBOSA  grade A
Pierce  grade B+
Rondo   grade C+
Sully   grade C

KG     Grade  D

GREEN   GRADE F

I think there is only one level of panic after that one game, and that is the "Uh Oh, the Heat, without the pressure of having to win the first championship, may just be meeting their juggernaut potential, making it a fight for second place".

But, even that can change quickly with an injury, or some other tweak.
