It seems his situation is evolving similarly to Harden's:

Alex Kennedy: I'm hearing that extension talks between Ty Lawson and the Denver Nuggets have stalled. The two sides have until Oct. 31 to reach agreement. Twitter @AlexKennedyNBA

I wonder if the Nuggets have the guts to quickly deal him like Presti did, or even if the Harden traded emboldened them a little.

No way, who out there has the need and the assets to get him?

Star?
You read my mind exactly.

If Lawson is a start, what is Rondo or Westbrook?

The scuttlebutt around the NBA is that Denver is willing to give their young point guard Ty Lawson a four-year, $45 million deal. Or, about $11.2 million per year.

Yikes ... not sold on Ty Lawson being an eight figure per annum guy. I would price Ty Lawson down around $7-8 million a year.

Agree, but in answer to previous Houston has the assets.

A Lawson, Lin, Harden Backcourt would be a force to build a young team around.

The Rockets just need to sell them on it.

Rondo's extension was for 5 years and $55 million. LOL.

Lawson is an extremely efficient scorer, a very good to excellent shooter, a very good passer and facilitator and over his first three years his numbers are going up on both a per game and per minute basis. He is easily the smartest basketball player in Denver and one of the headsiest in the league.

He's tough, durable, intelligent, and a leader. If he isn't a star yet, he will be. Getting Lawson for $11 million a year for 4-5 years would, very much like Rondo's contract, will look like a bargain contract of great value in very short time.

I cant see Denver letting Lawson go. He is too good for that system and is only getting better and better each year. Lawson and Iggy together in the back court on the break is going to be deadly and crazy uptempo.

I don't think they'll trade him. But he could be on the RFA market.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Been racking my brain, the only teams I can think have a shot and a need are Sacramento and Atlanta. Some teams have a need but no chips (Orlando, Charlotte).

Dunno how the money works, but:

Atlanta trades Jeff Teague, Lou Williams, Josh Smith
Denver Trades Ty Lawson, Wilson Chandler

Sacramento Trades: Boogie Cousins, Isiah Thomas, Reke Evans
Denver Trades Ty Lawson, JaVale McGee, Jordan Hamilton

maybe for teague, but smith for chandler is a little loopsided ( i am not a chandler fan but i get the trade value)

I think Tomas could be better than lawson.. a big I think, so No for Sacramento IMHO

Arent Cousins and Mcgee almost a wash, to include reeke with thomas , i dont know, maybe reke alone or thomas alone)
