We planned on hosting Tuesday night and having a dozen or so friends over to watch the game, but now I’m not so sure… I don’t want to buy a bunch of food and beer and have it spoil or whatever. It’s quite the dilemma for me now as I don’t know whether or not to cancel.

I hate it. I’ve been looking forward to this game since the schedule release and this darn storm is going to ruin it!

Has this storm affected anyone else’s plans?

Yup. I'm in Delaware and suppose to get the worst of the storm. I really hope it's not bad and my power stays on. Me and my girlfriend have been counting the days since the schedule was released. I'll probably be upset if I'm forced to miss it. I know it will probably be the least of my worries if it does get bad but still on my mind.

Funny thing, I never thought of the storm in relation to the game coverage!  I am in Florida...the game is in Florida...and the chat room will be open!  If participation in the chat,  or on line in general, is very small, I will now be aware of the situation.   ::)  No electricity, tv, no internet...no participation.   :'(

Every one be safe!  I hope this is not as bad as they are predicting.

Storm just passed me , I live on the beach in NC , little rain and breezy..it was a big nothing here ...maybe a couple inches of rain ...few hours of 20-35 mph wind gusts...just a mild rain storm was about it.  All over and just a few leaves in the yard. TIde was high anyways.

I don't even think it rained the Martinsville NASCAR race out 200 miles NW of here.

I hope that my ability to catch the ball game ends up being the biggest of my worries stemming from Sandy.

I don't know what's worse.. The fact i could miss this game or the potential for a tree limb through my roof.

I like a bunch food and beer, and don't mind rain...  ;D

My situation is, my pops went to San Fran on Thursday and is (was) supposed to be returning to Boston tomorrow. We always meet and watch the season opener/ important games, and this will just muck things up!

Stupid sandy.
My pic is now, and will be Fab Melo until he posts his first official NBA dbl-dbl. This may be permanent.

I was planning on getting a 6 pack of Bud heavy, a pizza or some wings and just relaxing on the couch in the living room, watching the game for the night...didn't invite any friends, no distractions, nothing...Just myself and the TV.  I live over in Rhode Island, so I'm fearful of the power going out, too.  Here's hoping that it doesn't.  I certainly do not want to have to rely on my cell phone to keep updating ESPN on the web-browser every few minutes, if that will even keep a signal....

Here in Sydney I'll be trying to avoid looking at my phone, and avoiding the internet all day, as the game is on during working hours... Gonna be tough, with my job being web-design & social media-related ;)

No plans other than to be very psyched.  My wife and daughters don't watch sports so I watch on my own.  I'll be bummed if the power is out, but of course am hoping people are safe and as little damage as possible.

JSD -- I would think by Tuesday night the worst of the storm will be over (if you are in Mass) so it will just be a matter of whether you have power.  If any of your friends have a generator it may be a good idea to shift opening night to their place.

I went to Miami to watch game 5 in 2011 (the game we got eliminated), made me hate them even more after that, the crowd really, really hate Boston.  I saw that first hand.
I guess wearing an away jersey (with the crowd in white out), and being 6'2, 270 pounds makes it a touch easier to be noticed as a Celtic fan.

Another aussie, but pretty sure I'll be skipping uni for this one :P here's hoping for a game that makes it worth it!
