It looks like both guys are in good positions to flourish off the bench.  I'm really happy for both of them.  I'm going to vote for Jeff because it was obviously be a good thing for the Celtics, but I'm expecting a big year from Gerald, and he's definitely my dark horse for the 6th Man Award.
Yup

Is this even a legitimate question? Gerald Green? I mean, he improved enough to stay in the NBA for now, but 6th man?

Ugh. I seriously thought Orien Greene was gonna be a legit NBA player.

Shame on me.

not saying either guy will win the award, just wondering out of the two which will get more votes - if any.  And yes, I do expect Gerald to have a legitimately solid season for the Pacers.
Yup

I don't know, I don't see Gerald as even the best bench player on the pacers, never mind the league. I could be wrong though.

perhaps I should rephrase it, who will have the better year then

I'm not even sure how the voting works, but I was working on the assumption thta guys can get 5th place votes etc..
Yup

I could see Gerald getting most improved player, heck I could see Jeff getting that too.

The real question is, who gets more 6th man votes, Harden or Jeff?

  Do they have a comeback player of the year?

Don't think Jeff Green will beat out Jet as the Celtics 6th man.  Don't believe that Gerald Green is the Pacers' best bench player either.  So I don't think this comparison makes any sense.

The real question is, who gets more 6th man votes, Harden or Jeff?

I don't believe Harden will get any.  My money is on him starting for Houston, because I can't see who else would start above him.

Gives both Terry and Green a very good shot at 6MOTY if that happens, now that:

* Crawford is declining
* Odom is in limbo
* Harden is likely starting

Don't think Jeff Green will beat out Jet as the Celtics 6th man.  Don't believe that Gerald Green is the Pacers' best bench player either.  So I don't think this comparison makes any sense.

Hmm..could we be the first time ever to have TWO players nominated for 6MOTY?  Has that ever happened?  Is that even theoretically possible (in theory you can only have one sixth man!)?

Honestly, if we have Terry giving us 12 PPG / 3 APG and tons of three's as well as Green giving us 14 PPG / 3 RPG...who gets nominated??

Pretty tight race so far  ;D

Sorry.  This thread was probably the worst one I've ever started on this site (and I've had some bad ones).

What can I say? I was excited at the time.
Yup

I still have faith that Gerald can make a strong run at this  ;D

Gerald has seen a total of 2 minutes of action in the Pacers last six games.  On the bright side he did have one nice dunk in the All Star Dunk-o-rama.

Jeff is definitely entering the conversation though.
