If Lebron is the Heats starting Pf then Green should start for the Cs
I really think he may be more effective as a bench weapon.

I think Pierce is still up to the task on the perimeter and in the open court against James for short (5 minute) bursts. I dont think Lebron will be posting anyone up, but I could be wrong. I seem to remember he likes to start high above the three point line and drive toward the hoop to get open. Bosh in the corner and Wade on the wing, now they will have Ray spotting up. Battier or Haslem will set picks.
If the Heat are going with 1 PG, 3 wings, Bosh then I want the C's to match up with that. Brandon Bass shouldn't be asked to go guarding out on the perimeter  like he had to in the ECF last year.

Unless Green has a minutes limitation I don't see how it'd benefit us to continue to have a true PF attempt to guard either LeBron our Battier.

I think that at some point, Green might eventually become the starter.  But it's not now.  We have a lot of talented bigs that can fit the spot and unfortunately, we don't really have many options at the 3.

The only way I see this happening is if we have injuries up front and the guards gets healthy, we could see something where Green starts and Lee becomes the principal backup at the 3.

But that won't happen yet.

Green is absolutely not starting at the 4 against every team. An intriguing question after this preseason is whether he can start at the 2 against some teams.

I always view Pierce as the 2 in this arrangement.

I can see an argument - all other things being equal - for starting Sully to set a more physical tone.

This question could come down to what kind of tone Doc wants to set to start any given game or in general.

But yeah, if a guy is good enough to finish games, he's basically good enough to start them, whether or not he does.

Sully could be huge though, getting other bigs into early foul trouble.

I'd still want to be Doc, but not as much, lol.

Yeah, I'd like to see Green get some starts. Not sure how many though.

Like him at PF against the Heat. Like him at SF against the Thunder (Pierce at SG, and let Lee take Harden most of the game).

I think Doc is going to use different lineups. Obviously KG, Pierce, and Rondo are going to start every game they play in, but I expect - even at full strength - we see Lee, Bradley, Green, Sullinger, Bass, and maybe even Milicic start some games. The only player I don't really see starting is Terry because he is so accustomed to being the Sixth Man.

Gonna be a fun season with the versatility Doc now has.

Good luck to FLCeltsFan keeping up with them in the game threads lol.

its really going to depend on matchups IMO...teams with more traditinoal power-forwards I would rather play Sullinger/Bass at the 4

but against Miami, or the Knicks(when melo plays the 4) I think you want to match up with those small lineups

I see Green playing ALOT at Power Forward on tuesday night...the Heat love to go small with battier or Lebron at the 4 so he is going to be matched up against them alot.

I say they start Sullinger Tuesday night just to throw him in the fire and see how the Heat respond to that lineup. Then bring in Green and have him play the most minutes for the rest of the game.

J Green job is to get in  LBJ face every moment .  If LBJ is out there GReen should be out there too in his jersey.

When LBJ goes out,  ::) ??? if ever , like to see us destroy the heat inside out.

to a certain extent yes, but you don't want Green fouling out by halftime either

I really dont want Green starting vs the heat, and also against most teams. I think when we are playing an undersized 3 like vs Philly, he should prolly start. Otherwise, I want Sully or Bass starting (Bass vs Miami), but Green should always be on the floor in the 4th quarter.
