Sorry I didn't read the interview yet but isn't it odd that he brings this trade up for one big reason?

He re-Signed with us the following year! So he was mad but then did us a favor and resigned but he's still mad about that and us almost trading him last year?

Since you didn't read the article, perhaps ytkou are not aware perhaps that the context is that Ray claims Rondo first started having bad feelings towards him when he called up Rondo to tell him he needed to behave better so that they didn't get shipped out to Phoenix.

Wow that makes Ray look worse. Id be peeved if someone was saying stuff like that in my ear too (esp. Wasn't it a rumor anyway?)

There is a time when you just need to tell the reporters that you've moved on. I really don't know what he's trying to accomplish. He knows this team, why is he trying to stoke the fire it already has?
Back to wanting Joe fired.

It's just odd that a guy who was, ya know, TRADED to the Celtics would sit and complain about how they had him in trade talks.

There are only a handful of players in the league who aren't ever included in traded talks.  And by handful I mean maybe 3 or 4.  KG was traded for godsake!! One of the best PF of all time!!  For Al Jefferson!

I think a lot of this has to do with Ray never really getting to choose where he went.  He got traded to Boston from Seattle, sacrificed "his game" for the sake of the team, we got a ring and lots of wins...but that was never really what he wanted.  He wanted that on his terms.

I mean...does Ray think Boston fans are going to get upset at Danny because he was trying to make trades with him back in 2009?  Does he realize that Boston fans EXPECT Danny Ainge to constantly be dangling players in trade talks to see what he can get back?

I have some good news for Ray Allen: given his age, talent and attitude, he can probably stop worrying about ever being mentioned in any trade conversation again.

Besides the title, that's really all I want Ray to remember about being in Boston.

It was a roller coaster ride for the fans, the organization, and Ray over the past few years, but we loved ya, Ray.  Move on before any of that changes.

Didn't Keyon Dooling say Ray talked to the media more than his own team?

Ray does love the media. He's professional in the sense that he doesn't skip media things, doesn't say "last question" etc. But that's cause he loved to talk.

Will Ray seek out a coaching job after he retires in the hopes of sticking it to the Celtics?  Maybe he wants the same media/coaching trajectory that Doc had.

Ray needs to grow up, I always thought he was more mature than all this airing the laundry but man was I wrong.   He is little more than a spoiled baby.

Well, as a perrinial supporter of Ray Allen and what he did for BOS, I just wish he'd let it go at this point....all of this "he said, he said...supposed trades...almost trades....rumors of infighting between players and coaches/GMs...."

I mean, it's already been documented by Doc that he and Rondo had some clashes, but it was basically nothing more than typical disagreements that occur between players and coaches....

IMO, this is stuff that players/former players - just don't reveal.

To be honest, it's surprising coming from Ray Allen...C'mon Ray just let it go. He chose MIA, and I can certainly understand WHY he did it, and wish him the best.....but this back and forth mess is bothersome.....it just makes unnecessary fodder for the already over-loaded media.

There will already be enough drama leading up to Oct 30 without this mess.

I'm honestly wondering if someone is putting him up to this..

I'm wondering if he's regretting his decision on some level and he's just trying to continually rehash this stuff as a way to convince himself and justify to the media his pretty questionable decision.

There's not a lot to feel good about going to another team for half the money your original team offered you to take on even less of a role.

It does sound like there's some regret otherwise he'd say I'm not worried about them I'm in good place love where I'm at etc

My thoughts exactly. I would not be surprised to see ray getting some hidden "media bashing" clause, or secret espn endorsement to cause a stir and boost nba ratings
