It seems like Avery Bradley's name keeps coming up in trade suggestions. Some posters seem to constantly hijack threads with trade scenarios's about Avery.

Lets see what the majority thinks about his future as a Celtic.

Rajon Rondo and Avery Bradley reminds me of a potential Isiah Thomas-Joe Dumars backcourt - that's just me.

Avery Bradley is one of the great on ball defenders, in the era of scoring pgs and combo guards.

C Paul, D Williams, J Wall, K Irving, Westbrook, D Rose, all these guys will be judged by how they played against the great defender Avery Bradley.

It's great that he can take his time with his recovery, but he might get babied all year minute-wise, with such potent teammates competing for minutes.

He just might need to reign in his physicality, for better or worse. Probably worse.

But Bradley should be able to sneak in for offensive rebounds more often. He's so fast and instinctive and athletic, that he could bring in his share of nifty boards and some putbacks (dunks?)

48 minutes of harassment. Terry, Lee, Rondo, Bradley, and Barbosa can all effectively play off guard defensively, and all can pick off passes very well.

But only Bradley, Rondo, and Barbosa are the three guys that can pressure a ball handler full court. But that's 48 minutes of on-ball pressure. Sweetness.

Bradley is one of the best on ball defenders I've seen since the seventies.
Jordan, Payton, Alvin Robertson...best perimeter guys I can think of quick and Bradley IS that could just needs time to do it as last year was his first full time gig

What I love is all the posts about trading him??
He is coming off double shoulder surgery, this is the worst time to trade him!  His value is low, ainge is to good to trade a player for low value

"rated #1 out of high school"

As was our new rising big man, Jared Sullinger. Garnett as well.

Garnett is already teaching Sullinger "everything I know", and Bradley got 1.5 years of tutelage from Ray Allen before stealing his job and driving his overpriced but out of town.

And Rondo studied under Telfair for a full week or more.

Hopefully Melo can be our last starter of the future with Big 3 personal education. Otherwise time is running out to acquire the starting caliber 5 the Celtics will need in a couple years.

I hope we don't get our guy...

Wait, this thread was about Avery Bradley. my bad.

The only reason he keeps coming up when we throw poo against the wall is because he is our most valuable trade asset after Rajon Rondo.

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
He's a very valuable commodity in the NBA.

I'd say we should keep him until a very good deal comes in that will involve him. Something that may involve a near All - Star talent.

Okay, I voted option 3, keep while useful to us (or w/e it says lol).

To me, option 1 and 3 are the same because I think he is going to be so good that we have no choice but to keep him as a Lifer.

I only really chose option 3 b/c (though I would love it if he becomes so go good that we don't want to trade him)... I am no longer a players fan, since Shaq retired, I am now a ride or die Celtics fan, so if AB has to go to make us better (or w/e the organization decides), I'm behind it!

I love me some ABeast but if he has to go (I'll be sad), then adios, because it's all about THE CELTICS!!!!
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

An near all star??!?!?

Have you seen the impact Bradley has on the game when he's on the court?  I don't want Boston to trade this guy period, but if they do we had better get a guaranteed All Star in return.

No chance I'd give up an asset of his value (to the team) for any less then a bonafide All Star.  I'm not talking about an ageing, diminishing All Star (like Joe Johnson, Iggy, Pau Gasol) either.

Sure keep him as long as we need him. Goes for *any* player. No one is bigger than the Team.

I need option 4.

A Celtic now but in no ways untouchable.  If a deal that makes the team better comes up, have a nice career but bye.

Always about the team first. We will never put any player above the team. Except maybe Russell, or Bird, McHale, Pierce, Cousy. But they all paid their dues as lifer Celtics and earned it. He has a long way to go to earn that respect.

I thought about editing to an option 4 that reads " Keep him until someone offers to ridiculously overpay for him in a blockbuster trade".

Just couldnt bring myself to do that.  ;)
