Meanwhile, during the weekend, the Pistons released 2009 lottery picks Jonny Flynn and Terrence Williams. The move sets the Pistons' roster at the regular-season maximum of 15 players.

Both Flynn (originally drafted by the Minnesota Timberwolves) and Williams (New Jersey Nets) signed nonguaranteed free-agent deals on the first day of training camp. But with 15 guaranteed contracts, only a trade would have created a roster spot for them.

Hmm, which team will pick these guys up? Terrence Williams is still oozing with potential. I personally think the Hornets are a good destination for both.

It's remarkable just how poorly both of these players have fared in the NBA.  I can't help thinking that a large part of it is that the situations they came into when they entered the league were bad, and not at all conducive to their development.

Flynn is yet another Syracuse player in a long line of 'cuse products who should serve as support for the argument that one ought to think very carefully before picking a player from Syracuse.
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

I'd like to see Jonny Flynn go to Europe for a couple of seasons and try returning to the NBA then. Get more experience and improve his skill-level and floor leadership. I think he needs more time and attention than NBA teams can offer him at this time and place in his career. Europe can give him that.

Someone should pickup Terrence Williams. There's gotta be somebody that can use a talented guard like T-Will.

Gee, I wonder, is that a shot at Fab Melo by any chance?

Shot-happy player with a disgraceful shot-selection. Lots of turnovers. Horribly inefficient offensive player. Refuses to accept a smaller role within the team. Keeps trying to do things he is bad at offensively. Very wasteful player. Difficult to play with.

Immensely talented but no coach has been able to keep him on the court without T-Will shooting his team out of the game.
