AB is slowly rehabbing his shoulders, putting up jumpers and putting back weight. Nothing new but no news is good news I suppose.

Wilcox is "going to practice this week and see what’s going on" while Doc says Darko could have played this week.

Thank goodness on Darko, and let's be hopeful on Wilcox.

We're really in trouble without both of those guys.  We look pretty shallow and small up front rather quickly with those two off the lineup.

We end up down to the fourth-string center (collins) backing up KG for 20 min/night, or continuing what will eventually be a failed experiment of Sully at C.  Or Melo playing before he's ready (no good).

We need both Darko and Wilcox to be healthy this season.

We should not rush Bradley back, since he's projected to come back in mid-late Dec., I might as well bring him back in Jan. to make sure. He's too important for the Celtics future

Wilcox's back is starting to worry me. He hasn't played nor practiced since he came back.

Milicic will be fine. I believe he'll go during the season opener

I feel like the best we can hope for is Wilcox's health to be well timed for other injuries and the playoffs. I really like Chris, but durable he is not.

sorta depends on if the injury is stress issue to the back or some sort of perminate issue that will not heal with rest and gets worse ( like D. Howard) rather something that will require surgery to overcome.

Back issues can take forever to work out. These injuries kill the careers for so many NBA greats.

The key is to continue to always have at LEAST 2 of KG, Sullinger, and Wilcox healthy.  Darko is barely an average rebounder, just like Bass.  Neither of them are capable of being our best rebounder on the court, and Melo/Collins are much worse.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

I don't think we can beat the heat without Darko and his huge body to clog the paint.

I see KG , SULLY, Collins and Darko all having huge rolls trying to keep Wade and Bron from "hurling their bodies" time and time again at the rim. The MJ deal , if I drive to rim , I get freethrows  ::)

A BIG DARKO ELBOW DROP on WADE would make my day.

regardless Wades opportunitys at the rim just might be limited due to Courtney's body draped all over him.... 8)

Yupp very true. Avery should just aim for a Christmas season debut

I'd still rather see us release Wilcox and sign the Birdman or Kenyon Martin if they are willing to accept the vet's min.

I like the guy when he's healthy but a bit surprised Danny brought him back without checking out more than his heart issues.  could make the case that the vet min would have been better spent on Birdman instead of Wilcox (already would have better to get him than Collins)

Not sure how much Darko time we will see against the Heat. Even with assets he provides, quickness against bigs like Bosh is not one of them. The Heat game will see KG, Green, Bass and small amounts of Sullinger when people like Haslem/Anthony are in the lineup. We will go small quite a bit of the game IMHO.

This is a game where we do miss Wilcox's speed.  ::)

The good news is we will see how well our defense has improved in Miami Heat matchups after adding Jet, Courtney Lee and the return of Jeff Green. May even be a Kris Joseph sighting if we have foul troubles.

I doubt Barbosa is ready for game level stuff. That would be troubling.

And don't forget, Bradley's coming back, too. That duo will be a nightmare for Wade.
My pic is now, and will be Fab Melo until he posts his first official NBA dbl-dbl. This may be permanent.
