The contracts of Lebron, Bosh, and Wade have an opt out clause in a couple years.  This would make them obviously, free agents and come off the books for the Heat.  This would give the Heat enough cap space to sign a mega star.

...and then use their bird rights to resign all three of Lebron, Bosh, and Wade.

That's not how Bird rights work.

Each of their free agents will have a huge "cap hold", which counts against their salary cap until they either re-sign, renounce, or lose their free agents.  That prevents them from exploiting the loop hole you're suggesting.

I was like "Oh no he doesn't get it. Where's Roy to explain it to him!?" Then you were here.

I was assuming sarcasm as they haven't done anything that would be counted as a monster move.

I thought he was talking about Ray Allen. I haven't really heard much about him since he left back in the early Judas Era.

I dont think all 3 of em are gonna stay in the same team by the time it comes around, if anyone deserves a max contract in the league is Lebron, plus it will be hard for them to do it with the new CBA in full effect, i can see one of em leaving and getting replaced by an up and comer 'next big thing' ala bosh gets replaced with the brow lol.
