I don't have a problem with Ray leaving. Quite frankly he won't really be missed this season. What i do have a problem with is saying that the Celtics organization didn't treat him right. I know i wasn't exactly an eye witness to everything that went down but Doc made him a focal point of the offense for the past 5 years, He was golfing with ownership on the regular and was offered an appropriate contract the two times he entered in to free agency. I have a hard time figuring out where the hurt feelings come from. So what if you're involved in some trade talks when the team is struggling? Cry me a river. I just really don't know what more management could have done for the guy. He's a 37 year old shooter with bum ankles and he was mad because we wouldn't give him 9 mill per season? Just go away.

co-sign da bolded dude out chea contradicting himself how u gon say Boston wasnt good financially then take 1/3 da money for a rival? lol i been ova him but dis statement was horrible

I'm thoroughly confused.

Co-sign the bolded part. Dude out here contradicting himself. How can you say Boston wasn't good financially then take 1/3 of the money for a rival? Haha I'm over him but this statement was horrible.

I would be way more upset if Boston signed ray to 27 mill over three years with a no trade clause, jet went to Miami, and lee went somewhere else other then Boston.

Thanks for 18 and other great memories ray. You did what you had to do. I don't feel you've really owned up to why you left, but I have no doubt it hurt you to leave Boston. Pride gets the better of everyone at some point.

Best of luck other then when you're playing us.

I don't blame Ray for leaving - at this point in his career, I think he just wants to be a rotation player with solid minutes on a contender, and that money is secondary.  I think the almost move to Memphis really got to him.   I don't like that he moved to the Heat - however, I'm not that sure he would have had that many offers to join a strong contender, e.g. the Clips backed out once they signed I believe it was Crawford.  I also don't begrudge the fans who feel betrayed - how many guys leave and join the arch enemy?

At the same time, I think we did really well to fill his shoes.   Had he stayed, a Rondo/Bradley/Ray/JET back-court would have been fantastic, but Rondo/Bradley/JET/Lee/and now Barbosa is the real deal...we are fully loaded at the guard position.

I think (and hope) that once the season begins, Ray stops talking about why he left the Cs, and we all move on.  He was a great player while he was here, but he plays for another team; meanwhile, we have a load of new players to be excited about and to root for.
