If for nothing else (he's giving us more obviously), the Courtney Lee signing was worth it alone for this. Did anybody see him smother and shut down Joe Johnson? It was great to see.

I remember Joe giving us problems last year Bradley couldn't stop him and he's always had his way with Ray. I love our chances going up against ANY "elite" guard now Kobe, Wade?!

I missed the game, did he really do that great of a job? If so, that's pretty cool. I've always been a little bit worried about how Lee would do against bigger guys.

Hold on a second chief.  Bradley couldn't stop him?  Bradley did more than okay against Johnson.  Leading up to the series all I heard was Johnson's size would give Bradley fits, but instead it was Bradley's speed giving Johnson fits.

I thought Pierce played him in that series the most last year andand he gave him a ton of trouble. JJ was playing a lot more SF than SG. Plus Bradley was injured that series anyway so I give him a pass for that series anyway.

In general im never overly impressed with JJ anyway.

It appears that father time is the best "Joe Johnson stopper" out there

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
He's an ideal fit in the backcourt with Rondo. Defensively, he generates a lot of steals, and deflections with active hands and great anticipation. He's great finishing in transition, but can also get it done in the halfcourt with straight line drives and nice efficient shooting up to the 3 point line. To be honest, he's the type of player I expect Bradley to grow into.

I agree completely agree Johnson has been on the decline for years.

The Celtics in general seem to frustrate the heck out of iso-Joe the past few years.

See this is why adding Lee was such a smart move. Bradley's shutdown D is best used against more electric guards or point guards like Wade, Westbrook, Rose, and Paul. Lee's height and athleticism is better used against 2 guards like Kobe and JJ.

If anything I can't wait to see them two work together against teams with offensively talented backcourts like the Lakers and the Nets.

Lee signing was one of the moves this past offseason that got me pretty excited.

Think he's going to be a great pickup and big help for the C's.

We have 3 great defensive guards, rondo, bradley and lee.  I think a big part of it is JJ himself.  Good move moving him on atlanta's part, of course they signed him to that huge overpaid contract anyways.

Totally agree, think he's an ideal fit for this team.

Was nice to see last night (?) when Rondo kinda briefly barked at Courtney for not being behind the 3 point line on the baseline when he was diving on the other baseline. Just great to see Rondo knowing/trying to put him in the best place possible for him to succeed

I'm not saying Joe destroys us and he is overrated but it was still nice to see Lee play him effectively straight up. I think he can play Wade the same his defense was amazing last night, man and team defense, helped our bigs down low and is athletic enough to get back.

Yeah I think JJ and PP were head to head. After I think the 3rd? game JJ said that Pierce had the best footwork in the NBA. Seemed like he had a little pent-up frustration last night.

I think Deron Williams is the "Joe Johnson stopper". They don't really seem as a great fit to play with each other. Both need the ball to be effective, so the IsoJoe days are gone.
