After the lost against the knicks, here is what I see :

Starters:

1) Start Terry until Bradley comes back.
2) Start Sully!! Bass is the better play but Sully strengths better fit with the starters than the bench.. Whereas Ba$$ will always get his and perform the same way anyways..

Making the Roster:

a) I would pick Micah Downs and let Kris Joseph go!
b) I would pick Jamar Smith and let Dionte Christmas go!

Joseph and Xmas are great players and all that but from what i see as area of needs from the team, I think Downs and Smith would bring more for the team (even if each one of them might be the lesser player compared to Xmas and Joseph..)

My point here is to look at how players FIT THE TEAM not necessarily who is the better player...

What do you think?

What suggestions would you give DOc to help him make the final roster decisions..?

Agree with most of it, but Bass should not be starting and I'm sticking with that.

I see why people want that, I just don't see the point in throwing Sully into the fire when we have a guy who has shown he is able to get the job done next to KG and with the starters.

But Bass as a pro has historically played better off the bench, and with less minutes. That's against Sully having no history as a pro at all. Either way, we got power forwards.

OP why Jamar Smith> Christmas tho? there is absolutely nuthin dat makes me feel dat way Smiths callin card which was posed to be shootin has been non existant in da preseason so far nd he's a garbage ballhandler. seems like he belongs in da D League then maybe eventually down da line he can get a backup job in da NBA but he aint bout dat life rite now lol

This has more to do with not liking how Bass fits with our starters, and as you mention, how he's played better off the bench, than anything to do with Sully.

I'm fine with starting Darko ahead of him too, just as I am more comfortable with Wilcox starting over him too, but as mentioned, he's injured.

Poor rebounder, poor defender, one dimensional offensive player who doesn't pass hurts our starters a lot if he's not shooting well.

In any case, I see our starters being better with just about any PF than Bass. He's good at his bench role, let's keep him there.

Why smith, his thing above Xmas was that he could shoot, yet he has shot terribly.

He was a solid defender I thought?

He got the schemes, okay team defender. Gets overmatched with size and can't rotate to centers like Baby could and hopefully Sullinger can as well.

Agree on the guys but we actually have 13 active spots available - they made it permanent after the lockout.  So with Bradley and Wilcox inactive I'd keep Melo with the team for awhile just to keep him in the culture.  Send him down to the D-League later on.

He played like he gave a dang. Smith just cared about looking good.
