I'm all for being positive, hopeful for him.....he had a good season in 10-11 and I think the ability has always been there but for one reason or another, the dude just never got to play!

But I also say, Darko is well, Darko! Don't be expecting some number 2 pick that's been lying dormant to be suddenly unleashed!

I also don't think he'll play a huge amount........expect a solid defensive presence at the most (which isn't bad......obviously)

Physically, I don't think there is much question about Darko.  The question is how he is training mentally...because that is what will make the difference for him.

He is n't going to be a Pau Gasol or such , not a starter , maybe never was for NBA .  Everyone thought at draft he was the real deal and wanted him to be a big starting high energy dominating center. When he didn't become that franchise piece, he probally had a hard time dealing with it . The NBA recuiters built him up and then he crashed hard . Reality check.

I think that maybe Doc will refocus him on being a role player.  He will know his job , and be confident in that role.  His role willbe something he can excel at and build on .

We need an anchor BIG than can come in 2 times a game and relieve KG for 8- 10 minutes and the TEAM not suffer or lose a point advantage.  He is young and talented enough to do this.

Darko , needs a chance to have success , this breeds more success . He mainly needs confidence and someone to give him a role that he can manage.

Like so many young  players , he was on horrible teams with poor coaching and no chance to grow into his game or a role.

Darko and Lee both are better players stuck on do nothing teams . This can drag you down ,a better player playing down with average guys around him.

Darko, Green , Wilcox , Lee and JET should be a big second string punch.

I must admit he does look pretty agile for a big. I also like seeing that many of those movements were sports specific. My optimism just went up.

Darko was abjectly terrible in 10-11 (in fact, it was his worst season if you don't count his first 2 in Detroit).

However, Darko was pretty serviceable in 2009-2010, though he didn't get many minutes. 06-07 and 08-09 were pretty good as well. Those were his best seasons, and if he can about like he did then he will be worth it. Unfortunately, if he produces at the level he did in Detroit or the past 2 seasons in Minnesota, he will be out of the league before the season is through.

Can't wait to see Darko protecting the rim against the LeBrons and Kobes of the league. His jab looks fine to me.

If he dies, he dies.

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

Darko looks in good shape and very agile for a guy weighing in at 275. If that translate to results on the court we will see.

I like to see Darko get some run with the starters. KG really brings out the best in other bigs. So it be a good guage of what Darko is capable of at this point.

This is what amazes me about pro athletes.  I mean Darko, a guy who's been pretty much a bum his whole career, look at his workout.  How many of us, in our primes, could hang with that kind of workout?  And show that kind of quickness, strength, and agility.  And this is from an NBA scrub!

I used to tell my buddies when we'd get together to play hoops, picture the most unathletic guard (so someone our size) in the NBA you can think of, like Steve Kerr in his mid-to-late 30's (and this is when we were all college aged), and if he came out and played with us, he'd wipe the floor with us, be by far the fastest, strongest, quickest guy out here.  And this would be from a guy we think we'd be most likely to hang with.

Pro athletes are amazing.

If Darko flames out this year, he should go into boxing.

Darko plays his best basketball at 240-245lbs.

Carrying all that extra weight just hurts him on the court. Misguided.

If you dont have the talent it doesnt matter how much strength training etc you do, you aint gonna be something special anyways. Just because your a good athlete doesnt make you good at a certain sport therefore a guy that has talent for the game of basketball but isnt a great athlete is in most cases more likely to succeed then a great athlete with less talent.

Darko ...is a cool evil sounding name . We need an enforcer.  To keep the punk Wade in line.

He should have been in one of the "ROCKY" movies.

HE could do professional wrestling.

Those punches he's throwing at the end of the video would be right at the level of LeBron's head.  Just saying.

Darko is showing some decent core and upper body strength, but his balance looks shaky to me.

Some time we don't realize how well conditioned and strong NBA players are.   I was at a game once and Tony Delk had to change his jersey.  Now, Tony Delk wasn't thought of as a muscular guy, but his body looked like it was comprised of bands of steel.

A seven footer who is a decent athlete with a ticker and is willing to get into great condition should be able to get on the court and contribute.
