Howard sure played everyone. Ever since he landed in Orlando his eye has been on Lakers. He had to save face to do it though. He did not want to seem to be following Shaq's path, and he definitely had to convince Orlando that he did not want to go to LA.

He played it very well and landed exactly where he wanted to be.

I strongly suspected he would end up on the Nets.  Funny how history repeats itself w. Shag and then Howard going to LA.  Must be tough to be an Orlando fan.

  • We may as well put Tyrion in at center.

I'm with you - I really did think that Howard was going to the Nets. Glad it didn't happen, though.

I always knew he'd not be a Celtic. So I really didn't give a poo.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
I always thought he'd wind up in LA or Brooklyn, but I was shocked the way it went down. Really expected LA to need to lose both Gasol and Bynum, and I can't believe the poo-poo platter that Orlando actually got out of it. Even if Vucevic turns out to be someone special, I still can't believe how little Orlando took back, especially when a team like Houston was basically ready to give the magic a new lease on life.

Simmons called this one, but he was wrong about where Bynum would wind up.

In hindsight, it makes sense that Orlando got jobbed, since just the year before we stole Bass from them, for a guy that was leaving anyway.
