nhl guys, nba guys, college football and basketball coaches.

AAU probably has its own share of coaches who prey. I get the feeling penn state was a network of boosters. Prob aau networks as well.

Get the feeling dooling is talking about a celtic teammate or two.

I bet he's on the bench as player or behind bench as assistant next year. Seems like an awesome enlightened dude.

I don't think he just means Celtics teammates, like he said, he is the shoulder/ear for a lot of players around the league (he is like on the board of the NBPA)... through his work, I'm sure many have told him things.

good point, and hes got lots of former teammates, but he was resigning from the celtics, not the players association.

I dont think his playing days are over though. He might even just need a few months to wrap his head around things. Not to say there would necessarily be a roster spot for him.

I agree. And im happy it's good press for the Celtics. But im prouder that it sounds like we may have helped this guy. And also treated him with respect. Not all organizations are as professional. We do it right in Boston. Kudos to Danny and Wyc.

February at the All-Star Break is what he said in Jessica Camerato's article. Reading between the lines, I think he didn't want his leaving to add to the power struggle/vacuum between Hunter and D. Fisher.

I'm guessing that in the short run the mental and travel demands of his NBPA post are 100x less than even as a reserve on the C's.

Dooling sounds like a class act, I wish him the best. I loved that he dropped 'ol friend Dirk Minnifield's name in his thankyou list (again at Camerato's sidebar).

A true class act through and through. Great teammate/mentor.

I wish him the best. He may not have done as much as he could have on the court, but a 12-year NBA career is something to be extremely proud of. It seems like all the people he helped along the way was more important to him.

Yeah, um....wow!

Ultimate respect for this man, and I wish him well in his road to recovery.

Also, very impressed with the C' as an orginization, yet again.  Just goes to show that the C's, from the top down, really know how to do things right.  An organization that actually, and truly, cares about people is a rare thing in today's world.
