Favorite New England Sports Team

I know a while back, there was a similar thread but as we are waiting for the season to start, I was just wondering what everyone's favorite New England sports team is.

Obviously, since this is Celtics Blog, I am assuming the answers will be no-brainers, but I was wondering how everyone felt about the other Boston sports team.

I can safely say the Celtics are by far my favorite Boston team. I kinda like the Red Sox, and DO NOT like football or hockey. You?

Celts are my favorite pro sports team.

Bruins second favorite Boston team.

Was a Giants fan since the 50's when they were New England's "home" team; couldn't switch loyalties when Pats came along in '60.

Never liked the spoiled "plantation" mentality of the Red Sox in the 50s.

I'm not from Boston but the Celtics are my favorite team of all time in any sport.
I'll pull for the Red Sox and Bruins but hate the Pats.

I know a lot of people from Boston who love the Sox more then the Celts. I don't get it? You have the on of the greatest teams in sports history in your city and you'll pull for a not so great Baseball team?

i would classify myself as above average casual fans of the pats and Bs.

Celtics top the list easily -- I played basketball in high school (mid 90s), and have been a fan since.

Growing up in Europe, we had no football or baseball (but lots of soccer, yay). There wasn't any hockey league to speak of, either.

I have a developing appreciation of football, and to an extent baseball. I have no appreciation for the Red Sox organisation at this point, though.

So I guess this means Celtics > Pats > Bruins/Sox?

I guess I will answer in terms of who I would most want to win a championship  AND I will answer in terms of who I most like today at this point in time

1. BC football....just cause I'd like to see this in my lifetime

2. BC basketball...same thing

3.  Celtics in order to stay ahead of the Lakers

4.  Red Sox....just to tick off Yankees fans

5. Bruins...I've seen less of these things and the Stanley Cup is just so awesome

6. Patriots...I'd like to see an undefeated season. It's not that this is getting old or anything, it's just that I feel they owe me


In terms of who I like

1.  Celtics

2. Bruins

3. BC football. I love the way they play spoiler and made the ACC say "Wait. This wasn't the way it was supposed to be" when they went to two straight ACC championship games

4. BC basketball

5. Patriots....cmon. Just try to win the game maybe. You can do it. You just have to put in some effort and play football. You can do it. Don't expect praise from me when you lose two super bowls in a row and 3 out of your 4 last games. I'm a New England fan. What have you done for me lately? Oh. Wait. You lost. To the Cardinals. At home. When they played their backup QB. Then you lost again.

6. Red Sox. I don't recognize them. I wash my hands of them. I have no baseball team. I'm not going to go so far as to say I'm a Mets fan currently, but these guys are worse than NFL replacement refs. I get the same feeling about them as I get from Obama/Romney. That's not a choice. That's a travesty. This isn't a baseball team. This is a joke. If this were a product you'd demand your money back and get it as well as a huge apology from the manager. If this team were a comedian he'd be someone who isn't funny like George Carlin or Bob Saget or Whoopi. If he were a QB he'd be Dan Marino on a bad day. If they were an actor he'd be Tom Arnold. If he were a band he'd be Backstreet Boys. If they were a state he'd be New Jersey or maybe CT. If they were a planet he'd be Pluto. If he were a CB poster he'd be me.
