We didn't get the guy, but man, powerful little video. I was rooting for him anyways (became a big Houston fan somewhere), but even more now.

the rockets are my 2nd favorite to watch this year because of those 3 rookies. They are all elite talents. Plus the smooth 7ft euro rookie and j lin.

Not to go off topic, but i think sully could excel playing a faceup playmaking style like royce white. Sully could have played that style had he chosen a non-powerhouse where he could dictate his usage.

Sully has a smooth handle, good passing vision, way better scoring touch and range than royce white, and the similar smarts to find a way to get to the hole without pure speed.

Sure, white is quicker, but they are both so powerful that their drives cant easily be stopped.

I hope we se a lot of sully operating from the high post like pierce has for years. Sully will only get better at it too, and he has the potential to be a point forward/center when rondo is out.

Tp Thanks

Impressive talent and even more impressive story. Brave guy. Of course helps if you are 6'8" 260 with mad skills; but still.

So this is the first time I have heard that we wouldn't have taken him with one of our 1st rounders?  Can anyone else confirm that this was the case?

I have to say, if Royce White, PJ3, and Sully all fell to us and we only took one of them, I would have been royally p'd off.

That's the first I'm hearing of it. Last I knew we still had a promise to him. That one guy seemed shocked we wouldn't pick him. Maybe that promise thing was true. At least at one point.

This is completely baseless speculation, but of Danny Ainge wants a guy, he generally doesn't advertise in the Sunday paper. I wouldn't even be surprised if he has misled agents to throw off other teams. We'll never know, but Ric Bucher said Denver might take White just before Boston in an attempt to extort Ainge into giving up the 2nd we got from Jeff Green's settlement.

It's a moving documentary, but it's not like White removes any doubt that he'll be able to handle the plane rides, public appearances, or pressure of the NBA experience.

It's definitely a roll of the dice by McHale that high in the draft. his anxiety could easily also have social ramifications in the locker room, a locker room where White will no longer be the top dog by a large margin.

I wish him well, the Rockets are my most intriguing team by far in large part because of him. He was awesome in summer league.

But he's still a big risk.

I spent some time looking at the US map, and realized Philly would have been the best spot for him in terms of avoiding air travel.

Houston is within driving distance of NO, San Antonio, and Dallas, which is still pretty good.

What a nightmare if White is unable to adjust to frequent flying, in the public eye the whole time.
