"Former Magic G Keyon Dooling announced he was retiring — at least for a few minutes. Word is he'd be interested in joining the Heat. Who isn't?"

I would be mad if he did this

Man, I hope this isn't true.  I really really hope this isn't true

I always said when I left the Celtics, I could not go to heaven, because that would
be a step down. I am pure 100 percent Celtic. I think if you slashed my wrists, my

I read a tweet from Ira Winderman yesterday or the day before that Dooling lives down in South Florida.  I don't know if they have a roster spot for him, but his interest in playing for him doesn't surprise me.

Heat beat writer Ira Winderman believes that the Heat could make a play for Keyon Dooling.
Dooling was waived by the Celtics on Thursday in order to spend more time with his family and the idea is that he'll retire, but Dooling lives in Florida and has "long been a Heat favorite." Dooling would provide a veteran presence behind Mario Chalmers and Norris Cole, but we're filing this under speculation for now. Sep. 21 - 8:59 am et

No way The Reverend does this. Although no one would have expected Ray to do what he did either.. :-\

Does it really matter if he goes there? He's a third stringer at this point of his career not a difference maker. I thought that was fairly evident with his play last year.

Sometimes not sucking is similar to making a difference, because you didn't hurt your team when you played. Think of his play (mediocrity and all) in the playoffs compared to players like Mikki Moore or Sheldon Williams.

Well he did have his best games against the Heat.
In all seriousness now would you imagine the fire under Kg , Truth and especially Rondo if this thing ever happens. They will just go serial killer mode every night against the Heat.
With that said, I really doubt someone like him to do something like this.

Msybe he'll stay home when the team goes on road trips. Didn't some pitcher do that with a mlb team from Texas?

If this is true, I'd be more upset at THIS than Ray Allen leaving, lol...

Don't do it, Keyon!

You'll be on the losing side once BOS beats them next May or June.

Well, that's if you think he played at a mediocre level last year. I thought the only positive he brought to the table was calming down Rondo and mentoring him. His on the court play was, as a backup PG goes, some of the worst in the league.

I thought Dooling played well in the playoffs. He was rubbish during the regular season though. I agree he was one of the worst backup PGs in the league then.

That is typical Dooling. One good month followed by 3-4 months of crap.

Very lucky that one good month came in the playoffs. It was a real boost (compared to what he was doing in the regular season).

Hardly a surprise Dooling has been linked with a return to Miami.

Former team. Well regarded there. Enjoyed his time in Miami. And has been linked with a move back there several times over the years.

Dooling spent a year here in Boston. As a minor role player. It's not like he has some undying loyalty to the Celtics and wouldn't / shouldn't consider an offer from a team he has a past relationship with + is the current and defending NBA Champ.

Agree, but I think it's a crap move from his part after signing a contract with the Celtics and the cap implications it may bring this year if any of this is true.

That said, I didn't want Dooling here other than as a support system for Rondo. Didn't like him in his role as a back-up PG. He sucked there, even during the playoffs. His contributions came from high energy on defense (which wasn't always the best) and his streaky shooting from beyond the arc when he played off the ball. I can live without these.

I thought that he had a decent start to the season before he started with the injuries as well.
