The Celtics waived Keyon Dooling, who decides to "pursue other interests" outside of the NBA: http://on.nba.com/OeZTxX #iamaceltic

Dooling's rep, Kenge Stevenson, says after 12 years, Dooling will retire.

Looks like one of the non-guaranteed guys is going to get a role going into the season with Bradley hurt.

Shame - hope we can find him an assistant coach spot or something to keep him around the team.

Could we make him Rondo's press liaison?

I'd rather have kept him than one of the summer league guys.

I liked Dooling as a third string guard. Right role for him.

Disappointed to lose him.

for all the hate he got last season, he deserves to be a part of the Celtics organization and he should get a ring if they get #18 this year.

Thank you, KDooling

I hope he gets to be around the team in some fashion, as others have said. Keyon seems like a really good "We" kind of guy in a world (over)populated with "Me" kind of people.

Thanks, KD and good luck going forward.

Why was he signed? I gotta believe he is hurt and was just gonna be here as a friend to RR and motivator... because if not, what was the point?
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

I'm sad to see Keyon go; I'll miss him. Hopefully he sticks around the team (especially Rondo) somehow.

Thanks for your contributions, Reverend.

I am a bit confused, though: Did Boston waive him because he wanted to retire, or did he decide to retire after getting waived?

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
I'm good w it, especially of he can be convinced to come aboard as a coach.

The way it words out, we're becoming (with the Heat) posterboys for the 'new' nba of positionless players.

Combo guards: Bradley, Terry, Christmas
Combo forwards: Green, Joseph
F/C's: Garnett, Wilcox

Pretty interesting. Exciting too'.

Future head coach in NBA. This settles Christmas/Joseph debate.

I believe they said it was his choice..he has spent most of his life on basketball and wants to pursue other things.
