Was a rookie last year....traded by Nets to Hawks and released this week....worth a look?

he was projected as a solid rebounder with decent touch coming out of college.
Significantly less athletic than sully.

I assume his motor ran too low or something. Not sure if worth a look.

put up pretty good numbers in relatively limited action.

might duplicate Jared Sullinger -- but Ainge has said he likes that kind of competition.

(plus i traded for him in Lucky17's H2H dynasty league so having a Celtic would be cool... even if the logjam meant he was fantasy irrelevant.)

Not going to displace Sullinger, Bass or Wilcox. Not a Jason Collins or Fab Melo 7 footer. No room.

I'm not as concerned about our big depth as the others here are but it would make me happier to have another body there.

Apart from having to lose either Kris Joseph or Christmas for this guy, I don't see a problem with signing him.

I don't see any room for an unproven sophomore project here. He couldn't make the nets or hawks roster... How is he going to cut it with the celts?

I hope they can bring him in.  I'm not sure why Atlanta released him.  I can understand NJ trading him since they were after Johnson but I can't understand Atlanta's angle.  I thought he looked good his rookie year.  He was able to do what he did in college, namely rebound the ball and I thought he looked more in shape and athletic.

He's not as skilled as Sullinger, of course and he's not an above average athlete but I think he's quicker and more powerful off his feet than Sullinger is.  I like Sullinger a lot but he doesn't have a quick second jump and his ability to rebound out of his area against better athleticism and length was questionable in summer league.  Williams is better in that respect.
