5 first round picks and 4 second round picks in the 2014 draft...this rebuilding exercise could backfire if my picks don't land some good players. ;)
wow going to be very interesting...suppose to be a great draft class

I hope it works out for me. But I have placed all my eggs in one basket, so to speak. It could backfire if my picks turn out to be busts, but I wasn't happy with my team and felt that rebuilding by collecting picks in what is supposed to be a deep draft was the way to go.

Is it just me, or is everybody overlooking Jeff Taylor for Charlotte this year? Haberstroh had some very critical comments in his player profile and he wasn't mentioned at all in the team profile and 5-on-5. Yet he was very good in summer league, better at Eurobasket (leading scorer!), and Charlotte seems really high on him. He certainly looks like at the very least a first-rate 3 & D guy. What am I missing?

Kevin Pelton  (3:17 PM)

Taylor is, I think, one of those players who seems more like a 3&D guy than he actually is. He shot 34.4% from deep as a rookie, and RAPM showed him as a negative factor on both ends of the floor. So he needs to improve in both categories, and at 24 he's a relatively finished product.

I think Charlotte's got a lot more riding on MKG's development than on Taylor's. I wouldn't be surprised to see both on the floor at the same time, but, barring a significant injury, I can't see Taylor beating out MKG in the rotation.

Hot of the presses!!!!

Well, yesterday's presses:

Charlotte Bobcats’ Jeff Taylor has caught and passed Michael Kidd-Gilchrist

Sportswriters and coaching staffs aren't always of the same mind. We'll see what happens in Charlotte: I've been wrong before.

I still believe that MKG is the guy to own long term. Taylor is 4.3 years older than MKG, with 3 years of college ball vs. 1 for MKG. That said, Taylor is the guy to own this season IMO.

Perhaps in a backup role, MKG can work on his hitched jumper without the pressure of the team's success weighing him down.

I think MKG is yet another example of the classic player who's been "drafted too high." If he'd gone 5-10 picks lower, he could just make his career out of being a lockdown defender, and no one would have a problem with that. Going in the top five placed a bunch of expectations on his game that aren't quite fair.

Then again, this is Charlotte we're talking about.

A manager has asked to step down, so I'll need a replacement to help take over.

Anyone interested in joining this full-keeper league, please PM me.

I'm sure some league members have noticed that I am no longer participating in the league. I just wanted to take some time to thank all you guys for a great experience throughout the years. The way the league was run and setup was superb and you guys are some of the brightest basketball people I know. Lucky17 is simply amazing, there isn’t a better commissioner on the planet.

Anyway, I’ll see you guys around. Good luck.
