I've got a buddy whose bar prowess I respect greatly who once told me this about the song:

"Buddy, it's the best drinking song ever made. It makes the guy look good, everyone knows the chorus, and you don't need a good voice to song along."

I'll always remember that.

It's true. I can't tell you how many times I've poured my heart out to this song. I've also gained the respect of some older country bumpkins just by listening to this man.

Here's the song for this week.  This is the song that originally got me into country music.  I heard it and I said to myself, "whoah, these songs are actually about something.  Its not just sippin on patron"
