Good idea!  While we are at it, lets also take out the last game of the season where he went just 1 of 6.   That puts him at .... 38.1%

Some cbloggers will do this, but I think its unfair to just "take out" a good game a player has.  Some will even take out the best 2 or 3 games.  If you're going to just eliminate a player's best game when considering their "true" percentage, one should at least balance that out by eliminating the player's worst game also.  So take out the 5/6 game and also the 1/6 game against Milwaukee and you get 38%.  If you combine the regular season and playoff totals (when he had 2 bum shoulders), you get a 35.5% shooter, which sounds about right for a low volume shooter like Avery who mostly only shoots when he's fairly wide open.  I wouldn't be shocked if he shot between 35.5 and 38% from 3 next season.  I would be pleased for sure, but not shocked though.

Towards the end of the season AB's confidence was sky high. He was taking and burying that baseline corner jumper like nothing. However, I'll never forget the uncontested three he took at the start of the season from straight away and missed not only the rim but the square. AB has a small sample of shooting the three at a high percentage but he's got a long ways to go.

It was a lingering injury that he was dealing with all season, it's just as likely that his shooting came back to earth as it is that his injury affected his shooting.

Precisely, he has promise, but he is still young and has a long way to go before he gets there

Great news actually , this guy couldn't buy a shot in the first half of the season I actually thought his % would dip a lot from that...
But the key number here is 54. I really hope he can be consistent and do it again next season , and I know he has already done it in every level of play (HS,college,D-league) but you just can't judge a guy from 54 shots all season,we will have to just wait and see. Having said that I truly believe he can do it all season long next year !

I thought Avery Bradley looked pretty good with those 20-22 foot jump shots. Those long two pointers. And Bradley looked similarly comfortable taking those shorter corner three pointers.

That is why I am confident that Bradley can continue knocking down those shorter corner threes. I think he showed consistency there + on those similar length long two point jump shots. I think Bradley has that corner three in his arsenal already.

Where Avery Bradley didn't look comfortable was on any three point shot from any other area of the arc. Once they added extra distance on that shot attempt, Bradley struggled. I think those three pointers will take more time for him to add to his skill-set but I am confident that he will in time.

I'm just saying 35% is the barometer for an average nba 3 point shooter.  Bradley is not an average shooter, not yet.
