Will a Celtic Finish in the Top Five of Sixth Man of the Year Voting?

The obvious candidates are Jason Terry and Jeff Green, but maybe Brandon Bass ends up coming off the bench or Jared Sullinger ends up more productive than Glen Davis ever was or Avery Bradley returns as a game-changing combo guard off the bench.

Anyone want to make a prediction?

You know what you are going to get year in and year out from Terry, so I would be thrilled for Jeff Green to get Sixth Man of the Year votes.

I would be worried that the backcourt situation is too crowded for Jason Terry to get enough playing time and to put up enough stats to be a Sixth Man of the Year candidate again next season.

If Jason Terry got 30 minutes a game, sure. But if he's down around 25mpg, I doubt Jason Terry will be in the mix. Same goes for Jeff Green. Not sure he gets enough minutes.

Pretty much they base this off of points more than impact.

Either way Terry is obvious choice. Won it 2 years ago is always in the race and familiar to the voters.

James harden should have this locked up as long as he remains a "bench player"

If Jason Terry got 30 minutes a game, sure.

Of the 20 players who received votes in last year's Sixth Man voting, only Harden (1st), Terry (3rd), and Mo Williams (8th) had at least 28 minutes per game.  While the last seven winners have had 30 or more mpg, the four before them didn't, so it is certainly possible to be in the mix for the award if you are getting around 25 mpg.

Maybe not such a bold prediction, but I see no reason not to mention Courtney Lee as a sixth man candidate. If Jason Terry ends up the back up PG, Lee gets back up minutes at the 2 and 3, then he easily gets 25+mpg.

I realize a lot depends on how many minutes Jeff Green gets at the 4 and how effective Bradley is at the 2 as a starter. Still very possible IMO.

I think Green is the most likely.  He will likely get the most minutes off the bench, and they will also be running the offense through him more than any other bench player.

I love Terry, and think he is going to be great, but I think his minutes are going to be way down from where they were in Dallas, as will his shots.  He really was the second option on those Dallas teams, who didn't have a ton of pure scorers other than Dirk.  I don't think that will be the case with the C's.  He will be a weapon, but I think more of a safety valve type scorer than a go-to scorer.

I think Terry is being brought in to shoot and score. That's who he is and what he does. Of he doesn't then it will be a bust.

I also think that Green will be asked to do more things and probably have more of an impact on the team but Terry will end up scoring and shooting more. Terry is a gunner and don't think jeff green really is. Generally 6th man awards are going to the highest point getters.

I do hope however he does it that Green has a solid year. Im pumped to watch him play.

Absolutely.  Terry is here to score.  He will basically be a (very) rich man's Eddie House, with some extra ball handling duties.

But I still think he won't be playing enough minutes, or have the shots to be a 6th man candidate.

I do also agree that, while they are both on the floor, Terry will probably shoot more than Green.  But I expect Green to get more minutes...and he also has the potential to be able to do more, other than scoring, which is important for a 6th man candidate.

Ultimately, I think this team has too many weapons to really have anyone in line for that award.  But I would put my money on Green, if it has to go on someone, simply because if he somehow puts it together, he could be a real special all around player off the bench.

I agree.  He'll also be bringing up the ball, not Green, and while I don't think he'll have a huge role outside of shooting 3s, he's probably going to shoot a whole bunch.

I expect his biggest value to be with the starters, not the bench, a lot like House in 08.  He will actually look for his own shot, something Green proved to be incapable of doing with Paul and KG.  I think late in games and late in the shot clock he'll give us a much better option than a Rondo/Pierce face up from the 3pt line.  Green is a lot of things but he's no where near as clutch as Terry and not as capable of making the D pay for helping on Rondo/Paul/Kevin.
