Okay not to be a debbie downer but what type of injuries are we looking at this year? Ideally no one gets injured (seriously injured) as, to me, that's the most important thing when looking at teams getting to the finals. Just look at our 08 and 10 teams.

Every year we get excited about depth on our team and matchups on playoffs and more often than not injuries (for every team) change those plans.

I feel like I could see Bradley gertting another bad injury. He plays so hard and has had ankle and shoulder injuries already in his early career.

Im also worried about Bass being fresh off his contract getting unlucky and that would put is in a tough spot as well. Wilcox is another who I could see getting injured.

Pierce and KG have been pretty tough their whole careers. They might get banged up, miss some games but I don't think anything major. I don't know JET well but strikes me as someone like that. Rondo plays smart and wont risk it and J Green is young and seemed to just have a freak thing last year.

What do you guys think? I just don't like getting too excited about depth  when injuries are bound to happen. Bradley isn't even starting the season who knows when he will even be right

Hopefully no one.

We now have the depth to limit Paul and KG's playing time - at least until the playoffs. Even then, I'm guessing that Wilcox, Green, AB, Jet and even Fab and Jared will make enough contributions to help keep everyone's minutes down even during the playoffs.

I think we'll be fine. This team is now built for a run to about the third week in June.

You gotta be worried about Bradley at the very least. Very young and will pretty much of injury problems/issues in his first 3 years in league.

Hoping he has a healthy season but he hasn't proven to be that player yet.

hopefully LeBron James. He's do for an injury, right? It seems like he's never missed a game.

To avoid injuries, i only wanna see PP and KG play 70 games maximum at 30mpg. And i wanna see Rondo get some more rest this season (around 33 mpg), the guy takes a beating. Seriously, the Celtics need those 3 guys to make it to the playoffs healthy.

beat me to it.  He's due now that he has his 'precious'

Also thinking Wade, Ray, Kobe, Howard and Bynum.  Injuries are due to happen just for their whining/pettiness.

Not that I'm wishing injuries on anyone but I have to admit I'm rooting for injuries to:
- David Stern
- Joey (It's all about me) Crawford
- Ken (I'll take the over on the over/under of calls I miss) Mauer
- Ed (who'd I sleep with to get this job) Rush
- Dick (the cryptkeeper) Bavetta
- Bill (personal vendetta) Kennedy
- Bennett (my officiating is criminally negligent) Salvatore
and many others sporting the zebra stripes that should be out of the game.

Most Ironic Injury: Ed Lacerte (carpal tunnel and a bad back from bending over massaging PP's knee to keep him going this year).

Id say its at least putting things in perspective rather than people already penciling inAvery guys like Avery Bradley as a lock for all defensive team, d wade stopper, top 10 shooting guard in the league.

Don't see Lebron getting injured he's seems destined to be in the KG,  Pierce mold.

Dwayne Wade has the Vince Carter syndrome on the other hand

I'm guessing there will be injuries to a bunch of guys of the bumps-and-bruises variety, and they'll each miss a game or two here and there.  With our depth, it's just better to rest than play through it.

So everyone will be injured, but when the playoffs arrive, we'll have the healthiest, best conditioned, deepest and sharpest team in the postseason.

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
Hope no one in the Celtics roster gets a major injury. While I know that some soreness could not be avoided, I just hope nothing really major will happen, and we'll be good.

For other teams, I'd look at Derrick Rose. The way he plays and the injury he had, it's interesting to see if he'll be the same player or will change styles.

James is built like Larwence Taylor ,  a NFL body playing basketball , he isn't gonna get hurt.  Other than a sprained finger or something minor,  he hasn't been injuried really .  He is big boned  and tuff as nails.  I mean , he has to FAKE the hits and let on like he is hurtin to get any attention or sympathy.

All LBJ is gonna do this year is dish out alot of pain  to all the smaller guards and forwards he goes up against.

James is SOFT mentally ,   thats the way to hurt him.......

date his mother.....and he just gives up... ;D

lol..Good Point.

I'm still optimistic, though...especially after both KG and Pierce made it through last yr's condensed schedule, without Green and Wilcox, and were "relatively" healthy.

Pierce got dinged up a bit, but KG was an iron man.

Also, given that next season will be a normal one, with some games off between most games, I love our health situation even more.

More depth + a normal season = deep run into June 2013 (I hope).
