I for one am appalled that the town of quincy would prevent a fine establishment like the tilted kilt from opening their doors.  I have had the privelage to eat at one of their restaurants in the Baltimore area and I am sorry that some people here do not find it appropriate.

Word. Tilted Kilt isn't a strip club, its not going to encourage prostitution or drug use or anything like that. Seems pretty arbitrary to me.

Plus I found their food to be far superior to Hooters.

I had wings at both, thought they were both good wings.

its not a strip club, but its not exactly family friendly either.  they are promoting sexualization.....if they werent, and it was about the food and culture, they wouldnt have chicks dressed that way.

personally i could care less either way

From the article: Sheele did amend the earlier vote by scaling back the hours of the restaurant, so that it would close at 11 p.m. in keeping with the hours of Outback Steakhouse, which had occupied the Parkingway Street location.

Oh my!! As a business owner...albiet not a Tilted Kilt...I can't imagine a freaking city council setting my freaking hours for me beyond legal hours for for my establishment. All for the privelidge or raising tax revenue for their community....Wow. That bothered me almost as much as these idiots rejecting them altogether. I absolutely love how Wal-Mart, when wanting to locate or expand existing facilities handles this kind of silliness when taunted by despot local bureaucratic idiots.....And my business competes directly with a department of theirs.

Most restaurants that double as a bar aren't family friendly after 9pm either.

I think its overkill.

Good to hear your voice, Dark Lord.  Hope all is well.

Having said that....Where does this end?  What if somebody wanted to open Dicks Last Resort?  That theme sure isn't about the food.  I'm not getting it.

obviously they arent family friendly, they serve alcohol. the point is, u downplayed the attire of the waitresses saying they dont "encourage prostitution or drug use or anything like that". u took it to an exaggeration, so i did the same about "family friendly".  u said they arent strip clubs, which they arent, but they are promoting and using sexualization to generate profits

There is a place like it in every town (and I don't mean just Tilted Kilt, they're just better at it).

They hire the prettiest 18-25 year old girls they can find, dress them in something 'tastefully scandalous', and serve food.

Just because Tilted Kilt doesn't make any pretensions about what they do, I don't think it makes them special, or worth of legislation.

So do about half of all bar waitresses in the United States.

So are the idiots in the Quincy city council going to set dress codes in every bar in Quincy?  Since they feel like they can set hours for a specific private business or reject one altogether.

Welcome to Cuba.

tastefully scandalous=oxymoron.

in any event, i just dont see the big deal with the rejection.  quincy chose not to allow them there.  they will go to a different community and generate a lot of profits for the community, which may make quincy regret their decision.  i dont think it will really impact the tilted kilt in the long run, but it would impact quincy....they reap what they sow

if they choice to reject it, they will probably regret it and its their fault for listening to a bunch of morons from a church.  it wont impact tilted kilt, as they will go to a different community and still prosper. quincy likely shot themselves in the foot
