On his goal: “It is kinda too early to place my mark on where I am in Celtic history as a point guard. But hopefully, by the time I finish my career, I’d be the best to ever play for the Celtics.”

On his future: “In five years, I’ll be 31. Hopefully, I have at least, and I say at least, two more championships, maybe one. You never know. I expect to win every year I play.”

On this season: “We have the talent. … The team we have, the talent that surround me, the coaching staff, the organization, we expect to win a championship every year.”

"In 5 years, I'll be 31".

Music to my ears.  Kid is just hitting his prime.

Well Rondo doesn't lack for confidence!  I just hope he can live up to his billing, and that we have surrounded him with enough talent to win it all.  I know KG didn't sign an extension to 'not go' for a championshp.  The core of talent the celtics have right now seems promising.  But we'll probably need an extra piece at the trade deadline to match up with the Lakers and the Heat.

He better win in all 5 of those years if he wants to get up there with that other guy.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

This is what I love about Rondo. He doesn't expect to compete, he expects to win every time he steps on the court. That's a huge difference in mentality between "wanting" to win and "expecting" to win.

Love it. Love it. Love it.

I also have no doubt that if we can surround him with the right talent he can deliver the rings.

I think we have it this year - as a "team" - if we stay healthy. Maybe it's our turn to have the Luck of the Irish for KG and Pierce to raise one more and for Rondo to get at least half way to "two more" by the time he's 28...

Let's go Celtics!

I want 5 titles.  guess it's better to be humble than to get up on a stage and say he's going to win "Not 1, not 2, not 3, not 4," etc...  like some other clown did

Without unbelievably bad luck with injuries, Rondo, KG & Pierce might already likely have 3 titles, "possibly" four.

I'd really love to see KG and Pierce get one more ring and I think this year is their best shot, given Father time.

Rondo could then focus on adding to his collection.

He was always a confident dude. He's just becoming a lot more outspoken now. He's taking on that leadership role and pulling the team along with him.

I don't think it's any small coincidence that this is the first year we've heard Rondo be so active and outspoken in the off season. He's emerging as a superstar in the league, the leader of this team, and starting his trek to make a cause for himself as the GOAT point guard in Celtics history.

No disrespect meant to Cousy, but I wouldn't doubt that's how it ends up either.

Last season when sooo many people were hating on rondo I tried to point out at that point, what 6 years in that he imo was the 2nd best point guard ever for the celtics.  He has what it takes and he is a force like kg, bird, pp that when the game matters he'll kill to win.
someone smarter than i should post the diving ball play now

This is why I don't care about all this Olympic stuff, I love that he puts the Celtics over everything else basketball-wise.

Rondo <3

I'd say right now, in terms of Celtics careers, Rondo and DJ are pretty even. DJ made a lot of clutch plays for the Celts but he didn't really dominate games like Rondo has.
