I know its just a video game, but its always interesting to see what they think of players ratings...last year he was an 86...its interesting to see that they finally put rondo in that "elite rating" class

  • Everyone's excited for the new era.
Seems fair.  I'd be interested to see if they put Rose above him.  I would, but they might factor his injury into how they rate him.  Or they could put out a patch shortly after his return.

Can't wait for 2K13.

I wonder if they added special moves. Behind the back while in the air assist, alley-oop inbound pass, etc.
I moved the cheese.

Already got them, Rondo's famous ball fake layup, behind the back midair passes, etc..

  • We may as well put Tyrion in at center.
That's a good rating. The only PGs who should be above that are CP3 and maybe Rose.

I really hope they'll take a Madden 12-like approach to 2k13 and have flux ratings that change depending on whether a player is hot or not. I love me some association and franchise building.

They already do that too, don't they?

He's referring to this in Association. They do update player ratings on the "Play Now" rosters but a player stays that way until he 'improves' in Association.

Sad that such a great mode gets so, so, so little love. But I suppose as long as LeBron is the best player in the history of the NBA people'll eat it up.

He shouldn't be...Rose is rediculously overrated.

He's solid at a lot of things, but he's nowhere near the best at anything.

He's basically a SG in a PGs body, and yet:

1. He's not as good a playmaker as the best proper PGs (Nash/Williams/Rondo/Paul/Kidd)

2. He's not as good a scorer as the best scoring guards (Kobe, Westbrook, Wade, etc)

3. He's an average (at best) defender

4. His team wins almost as many games with him as they do without him

5. He's show zero ability to lead his team when it counts (Playoffs)

No question Rose is a very talented player, but his rating should not in the same ballpark as Chris Paul.  If Paul is a 93 then Rose should be no more then an 85.

Wonder what his rating would be in Live 13? Can't wait to start Assoc. mode on 2k13.
2019 CStrong Historical Draft 2000s OKC Thunder.
PG: Jrue Holiday / Isaiah Thomas / Larry Hughes
SG: Paul George / Aaron McKie / Bradley Beal
SF: Paul Pierce / Tayshaun Prince / Brian Scalabrine
PF: LaMarcus Aldridge / Shareef Abdur-Raheem / Ben Simmons
C: Jermaine O'neal / Ben Wallace

Yeah, truthfully, I only play "Play Now" when I have friends over. 80% of the time I play 2k, it's on Association.

I really don't like how the ratings don't really change until after the season. True, they go up and down a couple depending on the team's success, but I feel like they should go up and down depending on the individual's success. That way, each experience is always different.

I think you're confusing Derrick Rose with someone else.

Rookies and young players get better though, and older players usually get worse.

Personally I'm a 100% 'My Player' kinda guy, but I think the association does a good job factoring in independent change during the season.

4. They were 18-9 without him, 32-7 in the regular season when he played. We all know how it went after his injury in Game 1 vs. Philly.

5. Rose had the most points by a rookie in a playoff game when he had 36 in his first playoff game against us in 2009.

Overrated? No.
