As far as I know, pietrus is still available. Nobody has signed him and we are two months away from the start of the nba season. Why wont he just take the veterans minimum or biannual exception and come back to the celtics? Seriously, who is he holding out for?

Who says the Celtics have offered him either?  I think he'd be a Celtic, if they had.

His agent was quoted as being mad that the celts only offered him the minimum. He said something along the lines of petey loving the celtics and wanting to return but there's no way my client is playing for the minimum so they were looking elsewhere.

Would love him back but there are no minutes and we've upgraded significantly where his minutes were last year.

I think we all would obviously love him back.  However, let's be clear: this isn't a good situation for Pietrus.  When healthy, he'd be lucky to be the 11th or 12th man on this roster.  So, if he's really set on staying in the NBA for the minimum salary, he's much better served going to a team where he'll actually get a chance to play and earn a better contract for the following year.

And if he just wants money, he's better served going to Europe.

Now, I'd love for him to ignore these things and come back.  He'd be an excellent insurance policy and awesome to have in the playoffs as an extra wing player for situations where Bradley, Lee, Pierce, or Green get into foul trouble.  But it's not a good situation for a guy looking to get more than minimum contracts the rest of his career.
