frustrate you?

I've been a Celtics fan my entire life, but I'm a basketball fan first and being that invites me to interact with fans of all other teams. Honestly, at times I indulge in the hatred that surrounds this team, but every once in a while it makes me want to scream.

The fact that most of the time, this team takes public scrutiny and hatred and uses it as fuel is something I've always admired. The adversity that this franchise has faced as a whole, I would say, is unmatched; however, does it ever just grind your ears when our favorite team doesn't receive the credit they deserve and more often than not are discredited for their achievements?

Just to list a few examples:
-The Celtics are the most decorated franchise in NBA history; Translation: They won most of their championships when the league had 8 teams, team was stacked, they still had a 20 year drought and have only won once since then.
-The Celtics make it to the ECF and are 6 min away from ousting the 2012 NBA Champions; Translation: The East is weak, they would've never made it had Josh Smith, Al Horford, or Derrick Rose had been healthy, the Celtics wouldn't have sniffed the Conference Finals had they been in the West.
-Rondo is arguably the best PG in the league; Translation: His stats are a product of him playing with 4 HOFers, he's a stat padder, he can't shoot.

... You catch my drift. It just gets annoying at times and it happens so much that often it seems like they get underrated. Like going into the new season many analysts are saying the Celtics are definitely a top 5 team, but there are those who says they don't see how the team has improved and rank the likes of Brooklyn, the 76ers, and New York ahead of them. I've always loved my team and I always will no matter how often they get crapped on, but every once in a while it'd be nice to see them get the credit they rightfully deserve..... Or am I just being the emotional female that I am?

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Celtics hate doesn't frustrate me, the thing that frustrated me most was being accused of being a bandwagon fan in 2007. I started wearing my Al Jefferson jersey during the playoffs.

Our arguments are ridiculous to the point where we sometimes agree that I can't say anything about the Celtics and he can't say anything about the Lakers.

To be honest, it can be very frustrating at times.

However, it was MUCH more frustrating being irrelevant though.

Yes.

I live off the hate.  Getting all the credit you deserve means never getting to say "I told you so".

How can you watch a game with him? I would hate to sit next to somebody who was rooting for the other team. Doesn't matter which team loses it would eventually lead to a break up. LOL

To answer your question it does frustrate me at times. But, I always try to remember that I'm a fan of the best franchise in basketball history. So, in the end you will always have that over the haters.
