Celtics4ever, as soon as I gave you a TP I felt remorse for seemingly celebrating the sad downfall of these guys.  I am afraid feelings of useless guilt is an  tradition I am very familiar with.

mentioning Jason Williams reminded me to bring up Jay Williams. i think the fact that his injury didn't occur due to, or well playing basketball gets him on the list.

This isn't actually true. Rip Hamilton and Jason Terry have joined MJ and Toine in this club.

Fall from grace?  Easy.

The answer is the only player besides Michael Jordan who has won an NCAA Championship, and NBA championship, and earned over $90 million during the course of his career.

Also, Shawn Kemp's fall from grace was based solely on the '99 lockout and his subsequent change in body shape...

Eventually nobody will remember this year for Bron. They'll just remember refs handing him gifts, his little groupie team, and his Olympic team boasting they could beat the original Dream Team when they could hardly handle Lithuania.  Bron is a chump and all the championships in the world isn't going to ever change that.

I agree LeBron is a tool.  Money can't buy you a personality or sound judgement.

I think it's incorrect to mention Stephon marbury. He is the MAN over there in China. Come on guys they just erected a Statue of him and his skills are still there. If he wanted to (which he doesn't) he could come back to the NBA and still be a good starting PG. I would agree his Rep took a major hit but I think his shoe company did a lot to heal his rep back then and again he's happy and doing really well in china. A true fall from grace would be the likes of Shawn Kemp or Antoine Walker.

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but is it a fall from grace if people remember Isaiah Thomas less as a Hall of Fame talent and more as a franchise-wrecking executive?

Bumping this because I saw Steve Francis has resurfaced for the second time since the last time there was a post in this thread, and didn't really feel this most recent incident deserved it's own topic.

Recently Francis was attacked and robbed while on stage at a concert in Houston.

While he wasn't seriously injured and was solely a victim in this case, there was also the incident in August of 2013 where he was involved in an altercation with Stephen Jackson and subsequently arrested.

Again, I'm not really convinced he was at any fault, as wanting to fight SJax strikes me as a natural inclination and justified in many cases.

Regardless of his reported actions (or lack there of) since his exiting the league, Francis just doesn't pass the eye test for a man whose life is going well.

well, francis has certainly become a depressing story.  :P
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Forget the specific incidents or whatever, Francis just looks...unhealthy.  Like really not well.  Hope he turns things around.
