Breaking - Jermaine O'Neal has just sprained his non-shooting wrist, repeat, sprained his non-shooting wrist.

He will retire immediately after receiving his last paycheck.

Good signing. Jermaine is still a capable backup center.

He'll provide nice depth for Gortat if he can stay healthy. And there is no better medical staff in the NBA than the Phoenix Suns. Great place for him to try and get his body right.

I read this under the "Latest Forum Topics" and thought you meant Gortat.

This was a very pleasant surprise  ;)

I think it is mainly due to the weather rather than the medical staff being good. I mean, mid-December here is around 65-68 degrees. Come, April, it's already at the mid to high 70's.

THIS.

I'm not going to be surprised if he starts at PF for this team. Suns' medical staff is extraordinary and chances are high he can get healthy. Not to mention that he can get utilized correctly, as a post offense option.

$1.35M is a bit of change to pay for a guy who'll be lucky to get 15-20 games in off the bench, (in very limited minutes at that) ... the prognoses for his injuries are just not conducive to such a contract or extended court time, but I seriously wish him and the Suns the best of luck. He did well with this one, while Phoenix rolls the big dice.

I watched every game in Toronto and every game in Boston. Jermaine O'Neal is a poison, a waste of money and a very talented basketball player. I wish he'd get out of the league already. He's so annoying to hear about every season, like he's going to finally be healthy and stick around for 75 games. Phoenix is the only franchise worse than Toronto. These morons will never win a ring.

He received that German knee treatment that Kobe and ARod got this summer. That combined with Phoenix's medical staff and the warm weather may actually get him healthy. If not its definitely time to call it a career though. Im also sure hell still have limited minutes as well as a limited offensive role and may still wind up unhappy.

I heard he actually sustained the injury signing his contract.

good one and a tp.

shall we make a friendly wager that does not involve any money, drugs, small animals, or anything else mods might find sinful? :)

i am now on record as stating that oneal does not play in more than 45 games this year. any other thoughts on how many games he will manage to underwhelm in this season?

Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.
