They need another backup big.
Nash Kobe MWP Gasol Howard
Blake Meeks Clark Jamison Hill
Duhon Morris Goudelouck Sacre
Not deep enough, IMO.
No? As they significantly less deep than the 2008 Celts, or last year's Heat? They've got nine quality players, with four potential All NBA players. That's a good enough rotation to win.
To me, Blake and Duhon are toast, Meeks is streaky(I do like his defense, though), Clark is a very poor man's Jeff Green(jack of all trades, master of none), and Hill is pure energy and nothing else.
All that leaves is Jamison. Sure, those other guys will contribute, but I think they need one other player that can create off the bench before I would call them deep.
I think it also depends on how many minutes you expect the starters to play. Mike Brown was playing Kobe like 38 minutes a game last year. I don't expect that to happen again; however, I do think the starters will play a lot of minutes.
Nash 34(this won't be good for his back)
Kobe 36(this won't be good in terms of keeping him fresh for the playoffs)
MWP 31(Jamison will probably finish games and will be the first guy off the bench)
Gasol 34(Hill is the only big who can contribute off the bench)
Howard 37(see Gasol)
Jamison will probably play 25-30 minutes a game. Blake will get 15-20 minutes. That's about it.
