Who says they don't have depth? I'm sure we'll now see others flocking to LA for veteran's minimum.

  • We may as well put Tyrion in at center.
Meeks has a great role on that team now - spot up shooter to play with Nash.

Hating the Lakers more and more by the second.
I like Marcus Smart

Jodie Meeks taking his talents to Hollywood!!!! May as well hang number 17 in the rafters at the Staples Center now.

Smart move. A shooter like Meeks will be very valuable alongside Nash, Kobe and their two big men. I would expect that to be their second most used lineup after their starting unit with Artest in it.

Jordan Hill off the bench to supply rebounding. Steve Blake backing up Nash. Eight man rotation. Ready to go. Championship caliber team.

Nice pickup and more depth for the Lakers. Expect one or two more of these minimum signings.

  • Everyone's excited for the new era.
They need another backup big.

Nash   Kobe   MWP   Gasol   Howard

Blake   Meeks   Clark   Jamison   Hill

Duhon   Morris   Goudelouck   Sacre

Not deep enough, IMO.

  • Let them hate, as long as they fear
Lakers "not deep enough"? Dont you wish we had the Lakers problems? Maybe if they had Duncan and Durant they would be a little deeper?
And someday in the midst of time,
When they ask you if you knew me
Remember that you were a friend of mine

No?  As they significantly less deep than the 2008 Celts, or last year's Heat?  They've got nine quality players, with four potential All NBA players. That's a good enough rotation to win.

I'M THE SILVERBACK GORILLA IN THIS MOTHER... AND DON'T NONE OF YA'LL EVER FORGET IT!

KP / Giannis / Turkuglu / Jrue / Curry
Sabonis / Brand / A. Thompson / Oladipo / Brunson
Jordan / Bowen

To me, Blake and Duhon are toast, Meeks is streaky(I do like his defense, though), Clark is a very poor man's Jeff Green(jack of all trades, master of none), and Hill is pure energy and nothing else.

All that leaves is Jamison.  Sure, those other guys will contribute, but I think they need one other player that can create off the bench before I would call them deep.

I think it also depends on how many minutes you expect the starters to play.  Mike Brown was playing Kobe like 38 minutes a game last year.  I don't expect that to happen again; however, I do think the starters will play a lot of minutes.

Nash 34(this won't be good for his back)
Kobe 36(this won't be good in terms of keeping him fresh for the playoffs)
MWP 31(Jamison will probably finish games and will be the first guy off the bench)
Gasol 34(Hill is the only big who can contribute off the bench)
Howard 37(see Gasol)

Jamison will probably play 25-30 minutes a game.  Blake will get 15-20 minutes.  That's about it.

I agree, why even be excited about the celtics this year. The lakers will eliminate us before we even reach the finals, they are that good now.  ::)
