Any team with Howard, Artest, and Bryant is going to melt down when they get on a losing streak because their defense is a sieve at the PG position.

Out of respect (inexplicable) for los Nash they'll call out their favorite whipping boy, Gasol....Instead of los Nash.

This is a team that sorely lacks athletism at the wings and at PG to deal with OKC.
woah now... they won 57 two years ago and would have won 50+ last year as well... you have them regressing despite upgrading Bynum to the best center alive and adding the best shooter in the world.  K

Well, the best shooter in the world...K....plays only that end of the court.  Which won't bode well for two of the best defenders in basketball when they see how lazy he is defensively.  There's a reason los Nash gets nowhere in the playoffs.  Won't be much different here.

The team isn't a train wreck...(Although any team with Artest, a defensive minded coach, and somebody who doesn't pretend to care about defense has the potential to be) But it isn't nearly as good as the pundits think.  IMHO...

K?

I agree with many from an overall standpoint that Bynum and Dwight isn't as big as others make it out to be.

But as far as fit on this laker team it's not close.

Bynum is more offensively skilled then Dwight, but defensively there is no one in the league like Dwight.

Dwight doesn't need plays ran for him and he will play off Nash and Gasol incredibly well if Brown scripts the offense right.

Defensively he pretty much erases any weakness this Laker's team has. It's a perfect combination from their viewpoint.

I say 66-16.

You must really like Steve Blake to think that Nash is a downgrade.

Are we sure that a guy who wasn't among the top 30 3 point shooters in the league is the best shooter in the world?

I'd say he's pretty close.  He takes more contested shots due to his greater role in the offense than guys like Kyle Korver who only shoot when wide open.

He is a 90% free throw shooter, which usually equates to a pretty good shooter.  Maybe not the best in the league, but likely top ten at absolute worst.

He'll get more open looks with Kobe, Pau, and Dwight than with Channing Frye, Jared Dudley, and Gortat.

Besides Ray Allen, there's not a single other player in the world I'd rather have shoot a jumper on my team than Nash.

I like Marcus Smart

In reality, it's a wash.

What los Nash brings offensively...He adds the same amount to dysfunction defensively.  I think Howard, Artest and particularly Bryant are going to get tired of chasing los Nash's man around while he stands around stroking his hair.

I feel for Mike Davis.

Phil Muenster is probably licking his chops waiting for Davis to get fired.

So will the 5 people on the court opposite LA.

That's the problem.

I don't see the Lakers getting out of the West.  55 wins seems about right.

Geez, I wonder how all of Nash's teams haven't gone 0-82.  Channing Frye must be a monster.

Their goal is to win a championship.  There's a reason los Nash hasn't won any....And won't.  I think it'll wear on a team with defensive oriented players.

How many championships has Paul Westhead won?  Mike D'Antoni?  Los Nash?  Iverson?  Tank Carter?  They'll outscore some teams and get beat when it matters.

Championships are won on both ends of the court.

Jodie Meeks will officially sign his contract with the Los Angeles Lakers tomorrow morning. The two sides agreed to terms this afternoon.
