Quote
For all the begging and whining and scolding I've done about this over the last year, at the end of the most splendid of days, this trade is not about Dwight Howard.

This trade is about the Lakers. It is about why they are the best professional franchise in the modern sports era. It is about how they've become the most reliable sports citizens in this city's history.

This trade is about the Lakers, even while enduring awkward transitions of power and leadership, refusing to be anything other than the Lakers.

Plaschke is not a reporter. He is not a journalist.

He is a groupie.

Always has been. No surprise here.

One thing I learned from watching PTI and those ESPN shows is how little intellect or acumen it takes to be a sports writer.

The Lakers are a fantastically well-run organization.

Really have to give Jerry Buss a lot of credit for what he has achieved as an NBA owner over the last 30+ years.

100% agree.

The difference between LA and NY (probably the other top big city destination) is great ownership.

The Knicks could be pulling off these kind of moves too if ownership/management wasn't so inept.

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

Just watch one episode of Around the Horn and you'll realize that Plaschke is a joke and has just about zero percent journalistic integrity.

He's essentially a caricature.

I hate them, but agree 100 percent with this. The Lakers have been relevant for many of these 30+ years. More than one can say for most franchises. Perhaps Danny and Wyc will end up accomplishing the same thing with the Celts.

Seriously.  8x Western Conference champions in the Magic era and 7x in the Kobe era in my lifetime.  That's nearly 50%.  What other team has done this in any major sport?

Yeah, for the first time in a long while, I feel very confident in the Celtics' long term prospects with Danny and Wyc in the control room. They have done a great job turning around this franchise. Boston is once again one of the best run teams in the league now.

Whoa Whoa Whoa....Kornheiser + Wilbon are A-OK in my books. I like how they call all the young'ens out though.

Wilbon: "you call that reporting/journalism...pathetic!"
