What the heck is Orlando gonna do with Pau?  I agree this sounds fishy, but it'd be cool if it went down.

I would be excited to see Iggy get out of Philly.  I love his game and would like to see him in a fresh situation.

I'm sure ORL could flip Gasol to Houston for a prospect or two and salary relief.

The Lakers are giving up 2 mid-firsts to take an early 1st and a 4th. Bad move. - #ThingsGMsSay

Somebody took Harrington in the fourth?  :P

If this trade goes down Denver shoots up to #1 for best League Pass team, right?

Lawson
Iguodala
W. Chandler / Gallo
Faried
JaFail

That's a 2k team.

Which means their return on Dwight Howard would be Arron Afflalo + a couple mediocre prospects + a minor amount of cap relief (compared to the ability to dump their worst contracts).

Not a good trade for them.

I agree.  I actually think a package of Gasol and Afflalo along with picks would be a nice haul for Howard, given the circumstances.  But I also think more highly of Gasol than most C's fans.

I think this would be a great move for Philly though.  I think Evan Turner is ready to take on the Iggy role.

This trade is a complete wash for LA. Dwight is a bit better than Bynum at this point, but the differences between them are pretty minimal, and Paul Gasol is MUCH better than Al Harrington. Big Al is a sneakily bad player ... he puts up some good numbers to trick you into thinking he can contribute, then you realize he isn't actually good at ANYTHING (he is an average scorer, below average rebounder, terrible defender, mediocre passer, etc.). So this doesn't really hurt or help LA, it is a wash.

Orlando is Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline.ed no matter what they get out of this.

Philly loses out big time in terms of raw talent, but it's obvious at this point that it isn't the right situation for Iggy no matter how good he is. So short term they take a big hit, but in the long term it could be good for their rebuild.

Afflalo is excessively average. He's a decent piece to grab, he isn't going to hurt you, but he isn't going to be that great either.

Is that a shot across Daryl Morey's bow?

If the Magic want to really get the most out of Houston in any deal, they've got to come up with a deal for Dwight that nets them more than Houston can offer. Otherwise, why would Morey do anything besides keep offering his bonanza of young talent and cap relief?

If they can pull the pieces for this trade together, it makes sense for Morey to up his offer for Dwight, or to get committed to acquiring Bynum or Gasol.

This might force Houston to overpay slightly for Pau. And Magic will be loaded with picks and talent.

That's a 2k team.

Why would you say that?

Faried and Iggy are both good and really fun to watch, I'll give you that. But Lawson and McGee are just meh; pretty good but not great, and Gallo/Chandler are terrible. Especially Chandler. Why would you want to watch a Small Forward that can't shoot above 40% from the field (Chandler's FG% this past season was 39, Gallo wasn't much better at a paltry 41).

Hey, didn't say it was good.

Personally, I have no faith in Orlando getting any sort of good return on Dwight. They're going to make a complete and utter hash of things.

Probably shouldn't judge Wilson Chandler on 8 games at the end of the year.  You might end up with foot-in-mouth come next year.

So the Lakers would give up a top 3 Center and a Top 3 Power forward, for the #1 Center, in a perimeter dominated league.

God I hope this happens.

Houston's offer to Orlando is better for the long term health of the Magic.  This is a terrible deal for Orlando.  I actually like it for the other three teams, but Orlando is getting hosed royally.

I just don't get why they wouldn't just take Bynum straight up or maybe even Bynum and Gasol and add in Turk.  I mean from LA's perspective is Turk really that much worse than Harrington and then you just cut out all of the other teams and maybe don't have to give up any picks or young pieces.  Turk is also signed one less year than Harrington.
