http://sports.yahoo.com/news/nba--lakers--magic-in-blockbuster-four-team-trade-talks-to-send-dwight-howard-to-l-a-.html

Quote
The Orlando Magic and Los Angeles Lakers are engaged with the Denver Nuggets and Philadelphia 76ers in a four-way blockbuster that could ultimately deliver superstar center Dwight Howard to the Lakers, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

A deal is not considered imminent, but the talks have grown serious over the course of this week, sources said.

Quote
There are multiple moving parts in the fluid talks, but the framework of a possible deal includes Howard and Denver forward Al Harrington going to the Lakers, Philadelphia guard Andre Iguodala going to the Nuggets, Los Angeles center Andrew Bynum moving to the 76ers, and Los Angeles forward Pau Gasol and Denver guard Arron Affalo going to the Magic, sources told Yahoo! Sports

Quote
The Magic would have a better chance of moving Gasol in another deal to get further assets, sources said, and eliminate the risk of Bynum leaving them as a free agent in 2013. Nevertheless, there was still a sense that Gasol's and Bynum's destinations could be fluid in the talks. Either way, one would go to Orlando and the other to Philadelphia, sources said.
The proposed deal includes the Magic also gaining draft picks and salary-cap relief, sources said.

Bynum to Philly
Iggy to Denver
Pau to Orlando
Dwight to Lakers

Wow lol

Well, if the Lakers have to give up Bynum and Pau, I can live with it.  That trade wouldn't make them better, at least in the short term.

Agreed they overpay. The deal as reported would not make them better. Too bad Bynum hs to come East. Great trade for Philly if it's Bynum incoming and Iggy outgoing.

Seems Pau goes right back on the trading block if this happens too.

What the heck is Orlando gonna do with Pau?  I agree this sounds fishy, but it'd be cool if it went down.

I would be excited to see Iggy get out of Philly.  I love his game and would like to see him in a fresh situation.

wow, now that's the definition of a blockbuster  :o

hate it for Orlando regardless of what else they get for picks and cap relief.  Pau is still a good player but on the decline.  If it turns out to be Bynum instead, still not enough return for Howard even with Affalo included.

Philly does well with just moving Iggy to get either Pau or Bynum.

Denver does well (IMO) with getting the better player in Iggy for Harrington and Affalo.

Not sure for LA.  Howard's an upgrade over either Bynum or Gasol but not both and Harrington doesn't make up that difference.  Are they planning on Al playing PF with World Peace at SF still?  Just not seeing the benefit of a one-dimensional scorer in Harrington playing with a ball-hog like Kobe.  guess this gives me even more reason to hate Dwight and the Lakers.

I think swapping Pau Gasol and Andrew Bynum for Dwight Howard and Al Harrington is a net positive for LA. The pieces fit together much better and LA would get much greater utility out of Steve Nash.

They'd be a better team for it.

Sounds like a nonsense rumour.

Ditto.  The Magic were reportedly dead set on getting either Bynum or young players / draft picks for Dwight or at least shuffling some bad contracts.

Orlando accomplishes nothing with this trade.  Gasol and Afflalo?  And moving Gasol won't get them a ton either.

Iggy and Gallinari would be a pretty sweet combination on the wings.

Pity the rest of Denver's team is so mediocre.

Sounds like a nonsense rumour.

If this was anybody else reporting it...  Woj seems to be connected, though.

Is that a shot across Daryl Morey's bow?

Is that a shot across Daryl Morey's bow?

If the Magic want to really get the most out of Houston in any deal, they've got to come up with a deal for Dwight that nets them more than Houston can offer. Otherwise, why would Morey do anything besides keep offering his bonanza of young talent and cap relief?

If they can pull the pieces for this trade together, it makes sense for Morey to up his offer for Dwight, or to get committed to acquiring Bynum or Gasol.
