With all the prospects on board, and Bass (who I believe can improve on his rebounding while you guys are warmer-than-lukewarm), do we have a big man coach? If not, do we need one? Who?

Or are we going with just KG?

Our rebounding, to quote Sully, "sucks". And I'd love to see Fab Melo develop (go ahead and throw cold water on me).

Also, on a side note, I would be interested to see Rondo develop his post game. With a big coach...maybe?

Not that I am aware of. Not since Clifford Ray left.

I'd love to see Robert Parish get the job. Former pupil of Ray's. Excellent fundamentals (especially in terms of defense and rebounding) + superb economy of movement / positional sense. Runs big man camps with Ray in the summer. Perfect candidate in my eyes.

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.

Seriously speaking though, Robert Parish could be a really good candidate. I can't see anyone else. If McHale isn't coaching then maybe him.

It'll be a great learning experience for the kids from the Chief.

Garnett is a pretty good big man coach. If players have the work ethic to follow him.  Stiemsma sure did and went from NBDL to being a solid contributor.  Melo has more athletic talent than Stiemsma.  Hopefully he has the same work ethic.  Sullinger appears to be a sponge.

I don't know that bringing anybody else on does much good.

Kareem's been champing at the bit to coach and even wanted to coach against the Lakers. He was pretty upset when LA wouldn't give him a chance.

I think doc puts a lot of faith in Garnett coaching/mentoring the younger guys so I'm guessing that the need isn't huge from a management standpoint. However, wouldn't it be amazing to see Kareem or the dream be sitting behind our bench. I don't think those options are very plausible. A More realistic candidate would be parish with pervis Ellison, or Marty Conlin being an option as well.
