Rondo takes too much of a pounding, I hope never plays in an Olympics, pickup game or All Star game or anything else non-title related ever again.

i disagree, rondo would have played a reserve role. I wanted him in the olympics so he can get a gold medal for his overall career achievements.

I think the foundation of Rondo's success has been Doc's trust in his decision making and play calling. I'm not sure how "coachable" Rondo would be on a team with other all-pros and coaching elite. Rondo is successful when he's allowed to be himself, which I doubt would be the case on the National Team.

This depresses me. I'm the biggest Rondo supporter in the world, but it irks me that he couldn't hack it on the olympic team. Really has nothing to do with ability, either... just attitude. And while I love the guy to death, I hope he matures a bit this year now that he has been given the reigns as clearly and publicly as possible.

I see that. Doesn't have to be Rondo though. I love it that he plays with a chip on his shoulder - he has always been underestimated and def fuels his fire. He can't acknowledge that some things, like the Olympics, are bigger than him though. Leaves a bad taste in my mouth. And trust me, I'm the biggest non-perverted Rondo fan there is.

This. Rondo purely is not interested in joining the team. He just loves his summer. And im glad he's not also on the team saving him from injuries/ wear and tear.
