I'm not sure if there's a thread on this already but I thought it was up for debate. I wouldn't say we have the best but with the depth I'd say top 5 maybe?

Thoughts?

Top 7 (in no particular order)

OKC-Westbrook/Harden
LAL-Nash/Kobe
LAC-Paul/Billups (if healthy)
BKN-Williams/Johnson
MIA-Wade/Allen/Chalmers
SAS-Parker/Ginobili
BOS-Rondo/Terry/Lee/Bradley

Yeah, possibly top 5.

AllI are debatable especially since Wade Ray play same position Ginobli doesn't start, Harden doesn't start.

Id plug any of those guys with Rondo and it's top 5.

Going into the season id probably feel most comfortable with the depth we have too. If one or even 2 of AB, Terry, Lee go down we are still in relatively great shape.

I'd go so far as to say we have the best strictly based on the depth factor.  Other teams may put out 2 maybe 3 good to All-Star guards whereas the C's have 4.  C's have more flexibility than the other teams since they can go offense-heavy with JET and Lee or can go for defense with a combo of Rondo/Bradley/Lee.

None of the others really have that depth or versatility.

Only if we're considering depth.  If it's the top 2 guys on the floor at the end of games, we're last on that list.

I'd say best in terms of depth.  Top 5-7 for starters.  BUT with rondo and bradley we have the best defensive backcourt in the league (by far)  and I will have to give it some thought as to a better defensive backcourt that I can think  of in recent years.  Both those guys could (should) make all defensive team this coming season

yeah i was thinking definitely deepest back court, which in some cases is better. where some teams have those dominant guards starting, when they come off the floor the backups are such a steep drop off. on the other hand when our starters come off the floor the dropoff is minuscule (except for when rondo comes off)

These starting objections sound like wishful thinking to me. Starting is irrelevant. Overall contribution is all that matters and I don't see how that is debatable among reasonable debaters.

Depends on Terry.  If Terry can play up to past levels, a Rondo/Terry backcourt could be very good offensively.

The deepest. The best defensively. The most versatile.

On the whole, yes, the best, period.

Yeah don't know what I was going with there. I guess just debatable in the fact that I think out of 48 minutes I think the Celtics back court is definitely one of the top if the list when you are talking about overall contributions.

I don't really get the infatuation with ginobli on side topic. He is literally injured every year and only plays like 30 min a game anyway. Not like he's a HOF or anything

As a huge Ginobili fan, I'd contend that he definitely is going to the Hall of Fame.  Especially keeping in mind that international basketball counts too.

This lineup makes me uncomfortable for any long stretch of time in today's warp speed NBA.
