Nicolas Batum, who signed a $46 million dollar contract this year, on the Opening Ceremony and asked why France lost so bad to the United States.

Standing that long actually will take a ton out of your legs and feet. Its entirely different than running for four hours or a four hour basketball practice.

Just ask a retail employee or waitress how tiring just standing can be. You're better of walking and moving around most of the time.

Yup, and they were right to.

Though I think the talent disparity is the bigger reason France has some names but not the horses to compete.

Then don't waste your time playing a meaningless pickup game, Nic.

As a 30 year retailer I can tell you I resemble that remark.  I can walk all day but can't stand still for more than a few minutes at a time.

yea i can attest to that, standing for that long just sucks. I'm a soccer keeper and i can assure you there have been plenty of games i just want to end cause i cant bear standing still any longer. Just kills my knees. I'm happy my new job requires me to just sit all day at my computer

I teach standing up for 3-4 hours without any breaks... I love it when I can find some brief moment to warrant sitting instead of standing.  My legs feel more tired sometimes then than after an hour-long run.

What does that fact that the guy is a "multimillionaire" have to do with any of this?  Do his legs hurt because he's a millionaire?

Do people ever get tired of envying other people because of how much they make?

The only people who should be worried about how much money Batum makes is Blazers' management...The people who write his paycheck while he's wearing himself out somewhere else risking injury.

Throwing in to agree with this. Used to work in retail, standing was very tiring, my one-inch thick foam mat was my very best friend. Sometimes I didn't have it, and OUCH by the end of the day is all that I have to say about that.

You wouldn't think those little bouncy mats matter, but they do. World of difference on your back/feet/ankles depending on how exactly you stand.
