I was hearing this alleged rumor that Green could be involved in a Dwight sign and trade. Anyone heard anything on this?

If you can put it to rest please do. Not a Howard fan.

But to play Devils advocate. Green, Melo, Sully, Bradley, and two firsts, how is that compared to Bynum straight up and NJ crappy package.

the thing on the front page is a joke.  Green can't be sign-and-traded for Howard, because he wasn't under contract with the team last year.

Moving on.

You guys wouldn't trade Green for Howard? I'd do that in a second. Rondo+Howard combo would be scary.

It happens... There has literally been multiple times in my life where someone told me a story they heard from someone else... I didn't believe it... and it turned out the original source was theonion.com

It would be scary.......for the Celtics.  Neither guy would want the ball in the 4th quarter because neither guy is a good free throw shooter.
We all think we know more than we really do....

For half a season until he starts refusing to resign, requesting trades, refusing to play, crying about being blackmailed...

And the people here didn't want Blatche because he's a cancer???  Look up 'cancer' in the dictionary and there's a picture of Dwight Howard wearing his Superman cape.

The salaries would have to include both Green and Bass plus a couple others (Lee/Melo) if we eat salary (J.Richarson or Duhon/Q.Richardson) getting Howard here.

Additionally anyone who says they don't want Howard as a Celtic is either rooting for another team or delusional. Howard+Rondo would be a competitive roster for the next 5-8 years. Not only would we have KG/Terry for 2.5 years (assuming we trade for Howard mid-season) we'd also have a very marketable situation for the 2012 Free Agent class.

I really would gut the roster to bring Howard here as long as he agrees to an extension. If his back holds up he will end up as a top 10 all time center someday and it would be nice if he made that kind of history here.

As for the free throw shooting, I can't imagine the games will be anywhere close with Rondo/Howard playing the defense they are known for. Throw in AB and KG for the next 3 years would be an absolute slaughter on the defensive end of the court.

Howard gets the best fans in the NBA, the best coach in the NBA, the best PG in the NBA and he doesn't even have to move because he and Doc can just carpool. Okay plane-pool.

Some people have soured on him recently after he showed his diva nature and got Stan the Man fired.   Also , the back issues scare some.  Some people do not like him.   That duo would scare no one on the foul line.   Hack a Dwight and Rondo would be the order of the day.
