  • About five seconds after 17 O'clock!!
Loved how he was almost universally slammed by his own readers and then had the hypocrisy to try and defend himself.

Call me old-fashioned, but this is to be expected with today's social media and accessibility to players in ways that wasn't really available 20 years ago.  JJJ needs to just let it go...Some guy puts something on Twitter (which is his right) and JJJ gets into a p---ing contest with him.  Yes, it's foolish on both ends, but if JJJ takes the high road and doesn't respond, there's no news to report.

Two wrongs don't make a right...

I unfollowed Marquis last year in hopes that it would officially trade him. Unfortunately Twitter follows don't affect NBA rosters.

You've got to remember how young these guys are. Plus the fact that he had no choice in whether or not he was traded.

Its obviously a tough time for him right now and some idiot blogger who has an obligation (with the number of followers he has) to be professional, decides to do say something like that to him. The redsarmy guy made sure that @jajuanjohnson read his post, that is a dog act plain and simple.

It cracked me up, he really put JJJ in place, and I love that kind of humor.

That said, lesson learned for JaJuan, I reckon, and you're right: that was a bit of a low blow. It's not like it's JJJ's fault that he's not getting traded - can't blame him for asking for what's best for him.

^ I agree with this guy

Corny on both ends.

If JJJ truly demanded a trade though, I like the post and hope he won't have much of a say in where he plays overseas next year.

I generally am a large supporter of this site and really enjoy all of the content, but that was a bit uncalled for. He’s a young man who just had his life uprooted and is unsure of his future livelihood. Whether or not you liked him was a player isn’t my business, but I think it’s important, that as fans, we try to represent Celtic Nation in the most respectful way possible and paint our fan base in a positive light. It’s taken a long time to get rid of the stigmas placed on this fan base, and players are becoming aware of how knowledgeable and dedicated Celtics fans can be. I can’t tell anyone what to do, how to think, etc. I’m just a fan who likes the content here, and like John’s observations on twitter. You guys always dig deep and look for really small tidbits of news that other sites disregard, and you make things accessible for me as a fan. I just want to voice my opinion that I found this post a little bit callous. I want to continue to enjoy this website, and I will come back for more good coverage of the team. However, if I feel that people are treating our players poorly, I can’t support that. I’m a Celtic fan first and foremost. If you read this, I hope you guys in the future consider keeping twitter beefs and such out of sight and out of mind, because no one involved ends up looking good or funny. If not, this is your site, that’s your call.
Respectfully,
Ryan Hebert

This is laughable. Treating players poorly? It was a jab.
I’ve dumped 5 times more praise on athletes than criticism on this blog.

I did my best to be really respectful and thoughtful with my response, unlike many others on here. Just trying to convey my opinion in a way that might actually resonate as something beyond “laughable”, which I guess it did not. I do not doubt that you have been positive towards players historically, as I have been reading and visiting this blog for ages. My point was that content like that obviously hasn’t gone over great with the readership, as all of these comments have probably reinforced. Players aren’t the only ones in the Celtic world who can take criticism as a constructive force for bettering themselves in the future.

I like how the a lot are not supporting his "jab" against JJJ. This shows the maturity of our fan base.

Yeah, I didn't think it was insulting or offensive, just dumb.  If he apologizes to anybody, it should be to readers for wasting their time with that piece of nothing, not to JJJ.

You mean why can't he type properly? Was he using Dragon Naturally Speaking when he made that reply or something we don't know about? Buddy, this is a basketball forum, not grammar school. Does nitpicking other people's posts make you feel less insignificant?

That site is becoming more and more of a joke all the time. Did you see their post yesterday about LeBron basically being god? And then when their readers jumped on them for it they retaliated by calling them fanboys lol.
