Let's see him against some NBA players first.

You don't think there's a reason why they're back there?
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.

I think Joseph has shown he has serious potential.
Either way he was probably a steal at pick 51 or wherever he was selected deep into the 2nd round.
But we probably need to see him play serious minutes in the NBA against elite defenders to see if he'll be good enough to stick around.
He has a good resume ie;
*he was top scorer at Syracuse
*he played one of the hardest schedules in NCAA basketball on that Syracuse team and had to defend and play against many future NBA players night in and night out.

Fingers crossed, but I'm excited too.

Read that last line again. One more time.

Nice moves , seems confident , and NBA body.    His work ethic could make or break him.  He has enough upside to really be something , but if he does like JJJ and relys on the same level of skill as his college days to serve him , it won't be enough to compete with the Wades and Westbrooks.

Hope he makes it.

Main thing to me is he is coming into a championship quality team.  He needs to get his playing time by doing the little things.  He doesn't need to come in like Brooks on the nets and score, he needs to be like jeff green did and come into our games and do what is needed.  I love what Greg did, he came in and blocked shots and was forced by the coaching staff to shoot that jumper that was so good.  Bradley, came in and played great defense and the rest came after a bit.  If Joseph can give us good defense, runs the lanes and can finish when rondo gives him the ball he is a plus.  We need both joseph and Lee to make up for MP going.  Neither guy has to do it all, don't force things ala big baby but work hard at what we need for the 10 minutes(or so) Joseph can give us at 3rd string
guy is athletic and to me has already shown more promise than giddens  :-[ or walker who i liked but couldn't/wouldn't play d

He played against NBA champion Adam Morrison.

Great post on the nature of expectations and also what Kris can do to help himself...

It will be two seasons before Kris Joseph gets any minutes more than garbage time. If he he does, it will be because Paul Pierce is out and Doc isnt getting anything out of Courtney Lee as a Jeff Green backup.

The kid has a potential future to be sure, but as stated he has to do the little things first on this team. Defense, hit his open shots, defense, no turnovers, hit the floor for loose balls.

Love to see him playing 10-15 mpg in a couple of years behind Jeff Green.

He reminds me a bit of Marquis Daniels with his crafty ways of handling the ball and getting better position.  Another decent upside/low risk pick by Danny. I hope he fares better than past 2nd round picks.

Kris Joseph slipped because he was a product of Syracuse Basketball and the way the system is there which doesn't translate to the NBA. He needs to come in and prove his worth and show that he can play defense.

Any second rounder making a contribution is a big surprise.

I think expectations for Sullinger in here are way too high.

Watching Joseph...I think the comparisons to Daniels are good.  They seem to have similar games.

All three draft choices have shown reason for optimism.  Sullinger may see the court some this season.  I think the only court Joseph and Melo will see this season is in Maine.
