Josh Robbins: The new head coach of the #Orlando #Magic is Jacque Vaughn, the @OrlandoSentinel has learned.
Surprised this guy got hired, personally I never saw him as a head coach. But one thing is for sure, this wont improve the Howard situation haha!

This might explain why he got the nod over the likes of Brian Shaw etc. It will be interesting to see how he handles the team down in Orlando this season.

Should've kept Van Gundy.

Some good it did firing him, eh?

Fail.   Magic should have kept Van Gundy or promoted Ewing.

The former player, Jacque Vaughn?  Didn't know he was in coaching.

Stupid Magic, they couldn't buy a clue.

This. I'm out of words. I mean, they were actually better with Brian Shaw.

I made a joke about Jacque Vaughn the other day when trying to think of the most random, irrelevant PG from the past I could. Had no idea he's still involved in bball.

It'd be so fitting to hear from Dwight's agent that he has now been swayed to stay and will sign an extension through 2017.

With those garbage teams, I wouldn't want him to waste his time on them anyway.

  • GOT IT!!!
I'm sure Pierce is happy for his former teammate. This seems like a desperate hire. Handing the reins over to someone that's only been coaching a few years?

I remember when he was at Kansas....his IQ was tremendous, just not his physical talent....he was a 4.0 student in both high school and college

eh
best thing would have been to make a statement and trade howard to (insert team) for first round picks for however many years and players
I'd make sure the team was a dud
Howard has forced  ::) or sort of forced the magic to move players and fire the gm (correct job on that one) and coach but he is not going to stay anyways
the owners mgt of the orlando magic is a laughing stock for most the nba, watch how this affects free agent signings for years to come

this is true. Managements decision makes me wonder if Dwight isnt that.crazy. You give the guy the job thats been sitting on the bench paying his dues for nine years.

Would getting Ewing and making a few good moves not have helped them keep Dwight?

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.

I did not know this. Explains the hiring, and the Spurs history can only be a good thing.
Thanks for the info, TP.
