3 pointing shooting is alway good.   IF he is the 12-15th man and signs for the minimum I see no harm in this.

Just another role player like Collins and Dooling.    I like these signings as it will make it easier for Doc to make a decent rotation..

This rumor makes no sense whatsoever. The last thing that this team needs is another SG. Need a SF or a big.

i really thought Xmas would get a solid shot at making the team. Its kinda impossible if this is true.

i havent seen that anywhere else... I wouldnt hate it if he played sf, we could use some vet depth there in case we're trying to stash Joseph for a year (though id like Gomes if we do that)

as a sg it would just be pointless we're stacked...

edit: looked into it a bit... the article references sportswriter Ralph Longo...

yeah I dont exactly trust a guy from bleacher report

Pretty sure this is an old rumor.

I remember some speculation the C's were looking into him around the time it was still up in the air whether or not they would be able to add Lee.  I have to imagine that once the C's were able to land Lee, whatever (small) possibility they would add Redd, went out the window.

Really, it makes no sense.

Before we got Lee, I wanted us to look into Redd.  After getting Lee, I'm less excited about it.  But if it's the vet min, especially if not completely guaranteed, I'm okay with it.  If Redd has something left, then great.  If not, Christmas and/or Joseph (and maybe Jamar Smith) will beat him out in camp, and we'll have little to grouse about regarding the 13th-15th man on the roster.

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
This rumor makes no sense whatsoever. The last thing that this team needs is another SG. Need a SF or a big.

PG: Rondo, Terry, Dooling
SG: Bradley, Lee,
SF: Pierce, Green, Joseph
PF: Bass, Wilcox, Sullinger
 C: Garnett, Collins, Melo

Looks like another shooting guard would fit right in to me.

Positions are fluid.  They're not so locked in.  Anyway, I think Terry will technically play a lot of 2 when he subs in for Lee/Bradley before technically transitioning into a scoring 1 after Rondo sits. When Bradley returns, they'll have a bunch of 2s, small 2s but 2s.

Redd wouldn't be filling a specific wing position per say, but more like a skill designation as a long-range threat.  Before they got Lee, I thought another shooter was needed because the only players with any track record of three point shooting was Terry and Pierce.  Now I think a big defensive wing is needed more than a pure shooter if Green can't hack it as a perimeter defender.

As far as three point shooting goes, I would love it if, after all these years, Garnett came back determined to be an effective high volume three point threat.  I think he would be capable and it would make up for not having a three point threat at point guard where one traditionally is.

Reds would be a great option and I would lie it but he wouldn't see any playing time. I'm getting worried that we might suffer from being too deep if true! Might as well stock up those assets for a mod season trade or invade of injuries. Would welcome redd with open arms but would much rather see an extra big

on either we'd have to use te BAE and Danny is probably going to keep that for any buyouts

agree...I'd rather we keep that spot open and play with the lineup we have... we can use the early part of the season to assess our strengths and weaknesses and make the necessary moves to address them... we have til the trade deadline to build the best team we can!

I would rather have a 3-point shooting bigs (SF or FC) than a small guard, to the likes of shane battier, james posey, rasheed wallace, ryan anderson, ak47, rashard lewis, etc.

Who is still out there and available? How about Matt Barnes, Scalabrine  ;D?
