I'm going to go out on a limb and say 60-22, equivalent to a winning percentage of about 73%.

IF they stay injury free I suspect 58 wins possibly 60 as the East is not going to be as good as it was this year.  Orlando, Atlanta, Chicago all will be significantly worse record wise.   New York might  be better but the look dysfunctional.  I only really see the Nets being better.  With their depth this year they should have an excellent regular season.

Just need KG and Pierce to stay healthy with low minutes..

55-27, and 2nd place in the East.

I'll guess 53-29 and either 2nd or 3rd in the East. I suspect Doc will be eyeing the playoffs and carefully planning out the minutes for his vets.

I'm sure they could win a few more if it mattered toward the end of the season.

I don't know why, but I have a feeling we'll be scary good. Particularly true if KG returns with the level he showed during the playoffs, and Rondo steps up his game.

I think they'll be good, but I don't know about scary good. Remember, KG is entering his 18th season.  I only care if they are scary good in the playoffs though.  2nd or 3rd in the East is fine with me.

Remember, home court advantage didn't mean much in the Miami series.  The Heat had home court and had to win game 6 on the road just to force a game 7.

i see doc doing a popovich this year... resting KG and pierce for some games to preserve their bodies... but I think we are a cinch to be a top 4 seed.  57-25 will be enough i think to secure the 2 seed.

1. Miami still tops regular season..
2. Boston
3. New York will rise i think with kidd/felton and in-shape melo and tyson, and amare taking lessons from olajuwon..
4. brooklyn soars.
5. pacers no longer surprise anyone.
6. hawks
7. philly
8. with rose still out and having let go of asik, brewer, korver, watson, i think the bulls will have a hard time getting to the playoffs relying on boozer.  So it will be a tossup between the bulls and the magic for the last spot...

One thing I don't hear talked about around here, albeit I'm too busy to be around as much as I used to be, is that last year it seemed like EVERYONE (yes, even KG) brought less intensity throughout. The stupid lockout and a possible lack of belief might have been to add. Maybe it was Ray and Rondo not talking with Jeff Green out for the year and some other factors. Whatever it was, I think the C's will be a cohesive unit from day one and an absolute beast. Some new (and young) faces to break up the monotony must be a boost also. Practices will be nasty this season.

I like the fact that we can unanimously hate the Heat with the same passion as the Lakers now. I bet Doc loves it too. 60 wins. With the need to rest these old cats I wouldn't be confident in expecting anymore than that, it wouldn't be prudent to push it that hard IMO. Playoff health > regular season wins.

48-34 (57%)

I think the Celts will be inconsistent. Between a need to work out the kinks with new players, they will tread lightly on older players to save them for the playoffs (at least I hope so).

We're also likely to miss Avery for a chunk of time and it will take him a while to get back to his prior level of effectiveness.

That said, I think we'll gel come playoff time and be much more dangerous with the younger players fully integrated into the system.

Using advanced metrics (Wins Produced) courtesy of the NBAGeek, we can make a decent prediction, I think.

We have KG, Rondo, and Pierce back. Last season, the 3 of them were responsible for the equivalent of ~34 wins (adjusted for an 82-game season). Honestly, I expect KG and Pierce to be mildly less efficient this year than last year due to aging, but not by a huge margin, and I think Rondo will improve enough to more than make up for that loss. For now, let's just set this 3-some at 34-5 Wins Produced.

Ray Allen's Wins Produced for this past season was 6. Jason Terry will give us 4-5, based on his performance the past 2 seasons. So that's a slight drop-off ... however, gaining Courtney Lee gives us another 4-5. So that's 8-10 from the two off-season pick-ups, bringing the team up to around 42-45 wins.

Bass, Bradley, and Wilcox gave us around 6 wins last season, adjusted for an 82-game season that would be about 8. So that gives us 50-53 wins.

That isn't too bad on its own. I think Sullinger will be just as effective as Bass this season, so I expect him to give us another 3-4 wins on his own, bumping us up to 53-57 wins. I think that's a pretty safe guess.

I'll go 58-24.  I think we have enough depth that this team won't need to be as conservative as it's been in the past 3 years.  I think these guys, KG, PP, Rondo and hopefully Doc, have seen the benefits of home court advantage in the playoffs and will play like their regular season means something.

I also wouldn't be surprised to see Miami come out a bit flat this year now that the championship monkey is off their backs.  They'll still probably get #1 seed in the East but I'm not sure they run away with it.

Realistically speaking 48-55wins. If everybody stays healthy and takes the regular season seriously about 60wins but i wouldn't go with the latter.
